“Getting the domain name PresidentOfTheWorld.org doesnt make you president of the world.”
President Trump is going to have a busy first week in office striking down all these EOs.
I think that’s true, and weird tea at that. And so what.
Is this the blog of a 10 year old?
And I don’t really think the good Lord wants us to be occupied like that. Too much of a good thing is, pace the good lady, not necessarily wonderful.
I look at the reaction to the recent Target bathroom outrage. Folks are not wrong to condemn what Target did, or even to choose this point to press the issue hard. This seems parallel to the Old Testament principle of “no one shall be put to death on only one witness” — i.e. it is the notorious actions, not the private ones, that deserve public pushback. They were wrong not to have factored some patience into this — before a boycott (easy as tappety tappety tap tap tap BAM and then forget about it) could have come a petition with an ultimatum with a time fuse. To Target, this may look more like an invitation to jump further into liberals’ arms than it is a warning about where to stop. And Target isn’t just Target, it is the perfectly legitimate jobs of thousands of Americans few of which may have been really thrilled at headquarters’ liberal bent.
Boston was famous/infamous for this kind of uber-righteous activism. It brought us Prohibition among other bungled things, and now has become a hotbed of liberal activism. We must be careful how we address our enemies lest we become just like them or even worse.
It’s a “half a loaf, but fully baked” situation vs. a “whole loaf, not baked at all” situation.
There is so much wrong with America that it might not even be brought back to a semblance of a better self in only one step. Trump may start a momentum that will go past where Trump is. When it comes to patience, liberals have had this virtue for years, only recently losing it. The patient man will usually win an argument with the impatient man.
DAM H1-B’s!!!
Curry sales help the Hawaiian economy, I think.
I’ve been talking to them about the virtues of becoming citizens. H1Bs are, in part, an answer to the short patience of corporate America. If a job is only going to last a couple years, might as well boogie in from India and then boogie back home. This patience is worn thin by other factors which dear Donald may be a bully pulpit to see alleviate. I think as a businessman he knows matters are complex and interrelated. You can’t just band-aid one thing.
my tea party does not have a CEO.
we are a grass roots effort that votes the way we believe with no money involved.
we will keep our guns and vote out every sheriff and councilman that steps in our way.
we overtook congress, the senate, and now the presidency, and we will not stop until money is out of politics.
Listen up. We must raise $21,700 this week so we can book our flights, lodging and still have a few dollars left over for taxi cab fees.
Exactly but he can just take it, who will stand against him?
GW repeal all those pesky Clinton EO's to, except he didn't. In fact I think he now accepts Clinton as an adopted brother. Royals stick together in a time honored tradition.
“Yep, it looks like the wheeler and dealer hooked you!”
BTW, Cruz had me to the point that I gave him money last March when he declared. They he un-hooked me with his stance on trade, his support of the Corker bill, his copy-catting of Trump’s immigration stance (while adding a bit to sound genuine), his lies about Trump’s stance on Israel and some other issues, and his descent into the abyss of personal attacks. He is NOT the person that I thought he was - whereas Trump is. Trump is insulting, brash, etc. - which is not a negative in running against the Clinton machine. I EXPECT him to be personally insulting, even as I don’t much like it - frankly, I wish that this country did NOT need a candidate/leader like Trump but we do and here he is.
OK, I’ll bite: who would you prefer as the nominee? Please keep in mind that I don’t view Trump as the ideal candidate, nor Cruz (for the reason you cited and others).
When you answer that, I’ve got another question for you: What do you think that the reaction would be among Republicans if, at this point in time, with Trump virtually assured of the nomination, if that person was inserted in by a hypothetical right-thinking Party?
