Why Is Donald Trump So Formidable? – Perhaps Because He Owns The Downside…
Conservative Treehouse ^ | 5/2/2016 | Sundance

All policies and proposals have a “downside“, there’s no such thing as a policy proposal with benefit to all and harm to none.

This empirical truth is toxic to professional politicians – therefore they spend an inordinate amount of time using pretzel logic to avoid it. As a direct consequence of avoidance, the media love to use the downside as a weapon.

For the first time in recent political memory Donald Trump represents a candidacy who is unafraid of their spear; and as a consequence, immune to the damage.

A case in point – NBC’s Chuck Todd thought he could deploy the downside weapon during a Trump campaign stop in Iowa (State Fair). During the exclusive interview aboard the Trump Jet Todd deployed his arsenal – “but you can’t actually remove illegal immigrants, I mean you can’t actually deport them“.

Trump owned the downside. “Chuck, yes, yes we will. Either we have borders or we don’t; either we have a country or we don’t“.

That is the single biggest Trump strength. He simply is not afraid to face the consequences whereas his rivals are!

It’s called “leading with conviction” with your Kimono open for all to see. Like it or don’t, but it’s there to see.

The last thing his opponent wants to have seen is what’s under the robe.

Yep. This is among the most attractive features. He’s unafraid. He focuses on the benefits and is not scared of criticism. Hell, the guy has been criticized by the biggest loudmouths in media over the past couple decades and it never prevented him from moving forward

Another way of saying it is that Trump is so multi talented that if he were to lose he has other great ways of earning a living so he plays as if he cannot lose. Losing is not a fear to him.

His opponents are all one trick ponies. If they do not win their careers are ruined and have nowhere to go. They are haunted with fear.

It is hard to lead when your breeches are stained with the piss of fear.

These two paragraphs are worth a book ... or two. Is Sundace a psyops?

Linda SC, Bush, and Hillary were all talking about a no-fly zone, trying to show us neophytes how smart and militarily sophisticated they are.

Trump blew them all away with common sense!

Media: Jeb Bush want’s a no-fly zone in Syria?
Trump: When did ISIS get airplanes?

I bet that sealed the deal for a lot of people.

Great article and if you think about it - very true. Trump is fearless.

That’s a good thing in a president.

That is also why he wins against the media every time. They simply cannot hurt him because he has so many talents he can do something else and he is not driven by fear.

Cruz is terrified and is driven by fear and he becomes his own self fulfilling prophecy and is now going down in flames. He is a one trick pony shackled by politics.

This is why I like Trump. With all his warts he is fearless and clear-minded on national sovereignty, and on economics. I like Cruz but this isn't his year; and that's fine. I can support Trump with an easy conscience and this is just one example that shows why.

Cruz and Trump were the only two men in the race that I would trust in the White House, and it looks like its going to be Trump. God bless him, and God bless us.

Cruz is a good man, regardless of the election-year mud thrown at him. His story is still being written. This time next year, though, we'll be talking here about President Trump, arguing over the latest thing he has said and done.

I can't wait.

When Trump first announced, I felt like he was sitting across the table from me, in my dining room, as a long time friend having a cup of tea...

I have felt that in all his rallies that I watch, his pressers he has, that feeling has only become stronger...he’s like I am, I want America back, I want jobs, I want a better health care program, I want lower taxes, I want our Veterans and Wounded Warriors taken care of and honored, and I want a wall...

As I listen to him, across from my dining table, we have talked about this and have sorted out the problems that are plaguing America...don’t you feel like that also???

Sundance seems to have actually read The Art of The Deal. In it Donald Trump says manage the downside and the upside will take care of itself.

I have been angry for 8 years. What? McCain?? Then Romney. What were they thinking? Why wasn't Obama properly vetted by the media? Why is Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton given a pass, time and time again?

DJT has shown himself to be the voice for millions. Trump supporters are die-hard in their commitment to the cause.

I love the story of Bobby Knight calling DJT 12 months ago.

I love how Diamond and Silk can give a woman's response to an Alpha Male in charge.

Trump bought me a justification for my anger. And he offers solutions.

Our nation almost gave up on itself. Now the voice of reason is speaking for all of us.

It could be from the “Mirror Mirror” episode (of the original series) with the alternate universe where the Federation was a conquering evil empire and Spock had a goatee. I.e. the universe where Hillary Clinton was elected in 2016...
