When Black Lies Matter - 30 for 30 'Fantastic Lies'

the story of a black female stripper who made up a lie to blame a white lacrosse team of a gang rape as a distraction when she needed a defence to prevent the state from taking her children away from her. then a white prosecutor; seeking re-election knowingly, withheld evidence that cleared the lacrosse team. The white prosecutor overwhelmly won the black votes until the truth came out.

The first five minutes of "Fantastic Lies" might make lacrosse fans cringe. White privileged athletes. Partyers. A de facto frat house. The labels thrown out, true or not, will likely lure a mainstream audience into watching the two-hour documentary, the latest in ESPN's critically-acclaimed "30 for 30" series.

But the lacrosse community should be thankful for what follows: a down-the-middle, fair and compelling telling of the story that is commonly referred to as the Duke lacrosse scandal.

By the end of "Fantastic Lies" — which debuts at 9 p.m. Eastern Sunday on ESPN, 10 years to the day of the ill-fated party that started it all — it's clear what this was all about: the party, yes, then a sequence of events that included a miscarriage of justice by a district attorney seeking re-election, a town-and-gown rift between the city of Durham, N.C., and Duke University, statements on modern media and society, and how an institution's decision-making perhaps made things even worse.

This was well after the key facts of the case were known, including the DNA results. The lynch mob wanted those white boys in prison.

I was at Duke when this was going on. I also remember, separately that year, the idea of 'hate crime' and 'hate speech' were creeping into the vocabulary. At the time the case wasn't all that concerning - it was a preview of things to come, but not common. So as it became clearer and clearer that the guys were innocent and the prosecutor was corrupt ... it was seen as an isolated incident ... an outlier.

Now virtually 100% of these so called hate crimes are hoaxes, whether it's a spray painted racist message, a burnt down mosque or an empty noose hanging from a tree.

I suspect the left learned well from the Duke case - how much they could get a way with, how deeply they cause irreparable damage and deepen divisions before the truth came out. Of course these days ... they know from the very beginning they are always lies. The just sit in wait for a story which, if you show 3 of 17 facts, makes it clear whitey is evil ... and then the remaining 14 facts come out, but not til 2 years later ... and all of a sudden you have a narrative of hate crime where - really not one - occurred.

It's weird looking back - both to the case and my first contemplation of the weird 'hate crime' and 'hate speech' terms - isn't this America? It seemed to be lunacy ... but not really a threat at the time.

I wouldn't say 'hate' is a part of my nature ... but in the same way that if I were trapped in a pit of scorpions, I would be hating the scorpion's, I hate the left's leadership. Totally. F'ing. Evil. They cause so much suffering everywhere, mostly among those they use in the victim role ... and then you have the other 95% of lefties who believe and follow this crap and you just scratch your head -> maybe like ants and bees, certain ones have DNA to carry out pure 'follower roles' ... it's the only explanation I have for lefty supporters as opposed to their leadership. When will they see they've been duped? I think never - they are made that way, and IQ is totally irrelevant, because IQ only works where you have rational assumptions. If Einstein believed as an assumption that energy was made the teeth gathered by tooth fairies, wouldn't matter how smart he was after that.

Anyway - it was a total railroading, and exactly like today: A mixture of a victim class with the help of essentially and establishment-privledge class guy using them.

Would be interesting to see (maybe the film addresses it) if there was more than personal power at stake - to what extent the lefty powers that be aided and abetted the prosecutor (okay probably a no brainer - I just don't know if they were deep into the race game at that point - the entire left.)

End of walk down memory lane. The good thing is I was there for the UNLV BBall championship and ensuing party, where I unknowingly told Tammy's boyfriend who had stalked me that night for this exact reason that I was sleeping with this awesome girl named Tammy, who couldn't stand her boyfriend anymore - some loser named Mike ... "isn't your name Mike?" ... and the fists flew ... his far more often and faster than mine because I was by that time super super drunk ... ahhhhh memories ... light the corners of my mind ... Misty water-colored memories .... of the way we were ....

Sure the Duke kids had no idea what hit them ... these days you'd know exactly what was hitting you, because it would be act 475, 385 of the same evil.
