American voters now agree with Donald Trump: He’s the ‘presumptive nominee’ for GOP: poll

When Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump declared he was the “presumptive nominee” this week, much news coverage challenged him on it. A new survey reveals that GOP voters appear to agree with Mr. Trump: 89 percent now agree that the candidate will win the nomination, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday.

The number of Republican voters who believe Mr. Trump will be the nominee has risen by 18 percentage points in less than a week. The poll analysis cites his sweeping primary victories in New York and five other states in recent days as deciding factors.

“To show how far Trump has come in a presidential bid that most considered highly improbable at the time, just 25 percent of Republicans said he was the likely nominee,” Rasmussen reported.

Americans in general agree. Among all likely voters, 80 percent believe the billionaire will be on the national ballot in seven months.

Good news about the two - and the overall delegate update.

Where did the other seven go, if two of Carsons delegates went to Trump? TIA

I think providing the Dunham service to America will put him over the top, although I regret her relocation choice.

I suppose that all depends on the state rules, convention rules... When Trump blows past the required delegates for the nomination, he should get hundreds of other released delegates during the actual floor vote.

As I recall reading that Romney won around ~1390, but he ended up with over 2,000 delegates during the convention floor vote.

Cruz is imploding. His campaign is circling the drain. After he gets schlonged in Indiana I don’t see how the guy stays in and keeps his political career.

They haven’t committed . . . yet. Just like the 10 outstanding PA delegates, the 18 or so Virgin Islands delegates. It’s entirely possible Trump can get to about 1030 before another primary.

I think the odds are better that he will have Glen Beck swear him in again as a president in exile, where he can pick a shadow cabinet and he and Carly can tweet out executive orders.

ROFLMAO! Thanks, Vince Ferrer.

Cruz is ego driven so he won’t drop out.

Rush has shot himself in the foot on this one. Not because he supported Cruz, but because along with Cruz and GOPE, he seriously misrepresented Trump’s words and policies.
