American voters now agree with Donald Trump: He’s the ‘presumptive nominee’ for GOP: poll

When Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump declared he was the “presumptive nominee” this week, much news coverage challenged him on it. A new survey reveals that GOP voters appear to agree with Mr. Trump: 89 percent now agree that the candidate will win the nomination, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday.

The number of Republican voters who believe Mr. Trump will be the nominee has risen by 18 percentage points in less than a week. The poll analysis cites his sweeping primary victories in New York and five other states in recent days as deciding factors.

“To show how far Trump has come in a presidential bid that most considered highly improbable at the time, just 25 percent of Republicans said he was the likely nominee,” Rasmussen reported.

Americans in general agree. Among all likely voters, 80 percent believe the billionaire will be on the national ballot in seven months.

It is now nearly impossible for Trump to lose.

Cruz has screwed it up and after Tuesday, he can drop out.

To show you how far Trump has come in less than a year, check out this August 18 article that had only 25% of Republicans saying it was "very likely" that he be the nominee and that was up from 9% at the time that Trump got into the race.

I think most of us have thought this for a while now, it's refreshing to see most people realizing the reality of the situation.

Any bets that Rush never mentions this Monday, but emphasizes the poll that shows Cruz surging? What are the odds that Cruz quits if he loses Tuesday?

Cruz quit if he loses Indiana Tuesday?

I don’t think he’s psychologically capable of doing that.

Cruz has screwed it up and after Tuesday, he can drop out.

I’m sure that if Cruz loses on Tuesday, he’ll announce his Secretaries of State and Defense.

Matter of fact, I envision a future where Cruz spends his time in robe and slippers, leafing thru his scrapbook, and holding cabinet meetings with his stuffed animals.

His daddy was a mail man, so he’ll probably just go postal.

I think you're right.

I hope his donors finally tell him to stuff a sock in it though, and they just might.

The amount of money the GOPe has wasted on him is beyond belief. Even they have to know they will have failed if he loses Tuesday.

Not according to Cruzers. They believe Cruz will not only win but will also be master of the universe as well.

People want to associate with a winner. Trump is now perceived to be the winner. There will be a big shift in support.

The GOPe needs to get on board, or they will be left behind.

He may have to be given a time out like Megan Kelley had.....

The big question after this is over: Will Rush ever look in the mirror with embarrassment and give himself that time out?

What are the odds that Cruz quits if he loses Tuesday?

I think the odds are better that he will have Glen Beck swear him in again as a president in exile, where he can pick a shadow cabinet and he and Carly can tweet out executive orders.
