The U.S. Army has decided not to discharge a decorated Green Beret for striking a local Afghan police commander accused of repeatedly raping a 12-year-old boy, Fox News has learned.
Sgt 1st Class Charles Martland has confirmed to Fox News the Armys decision not to kick him out.

When the two U.S. soldiers approached him, the Afghan police chief allegedly laughed after admitting to chaining the boy to a bed and sexually abusing him over the course of many days."
The Obama administration strongly supports child rape in the Muslim world. Two Green Berets who confronted an Afghani child rapist were disciplined and threatened with discharge. Now 5 years later after Congressional pressure the Green Beret is able to stay in the military.
Praise for Rep. Duncan Hunter for fighting the Obama administration on this for years.
That’s great, but this man is probably about ready to retire anyway. I would think a lot of loyalty has been lost, many bonds were forever broken when he was punished for doing the right thing. I would not trust such a capricious, PC dominated organization with the remaining best years of my life. He may need the financial security, so that too must be considered.
Surprising obammy didn’t kick him out since sodomy is now a virtue in our military along with bestiality and all perversions. Normal is not allowed (Common Sense/Christianity).
Flipping 2000 years of morality back to the paganism of Sparta and the Samurai-—and today’s Afghanis. Real regression to irrational ethics and unconstitutional.
But at least Spartans didn’t mutilate their women and have polygamy, and completely hate women—they liked women strong and healthy, so to have healthy sons.
But the Spartans preferred the boys for sexual recreation (learned behavior)—just like the Afghanis. But the Spartans groomed them a little bit better, and didn’t need to “chain” them.
They should be giving him a hero’s medal.
Gross!
The should have given him a medal for what he did.
Now they need to fire the one who wrote the reprimand.
Agreed. It’s always the case that when corrupt people dominate and control, they punish the good, decent, heroic and orderly and strive to drive them out. I truly hate seeing corruption dominating our nation and military. Like many other Americans, my family has a long history of self-sacrificially serving our nation via the military.
I’m guessing he’ll never make it to E-8.
Not a snow ball's chance, but hopefully, he can survive long enough to retire.
I am pretty sure, the PC asshat brass didn't change their minds at all. They were forced to, because of the firestorm they ignited over it. They are still PC asshats.
You mean Obama the Sodomite has lost yet again?
Very good news.
IIRC, SFC Martland has 11 years in. That he made E-7 that fast says something about his performance. But with no bar to reenlistment he should be able to get 18 years active duty at which he is a lock for his 20.
Now...one story says ABCMR “changed” comments in his one negative NCOER to get him off the QMP s***list, therefore no reason on file for him to be passed over for E-8.
There’s political residue in this case, that’s for sure.
Trump should issue an EO promoting him to E9, and making him “Sergeant Major of the Army”.
Not impossible, since who becomes SMA involves politics anyway.
Whether he is ready to retire or not, the retirement benefits that he earned are going to be worth approx. 1.5 million dollars(retirement pay for the rest of his life plus healthcare for himself and his wife for the rest of his life) plus his VA benefits on top of that.
If they would have kicked him out before retirement, he would lose it all.
My Husband makes over $60k a year just for waking up in the morning. Allowing Martland to retire is a big deal. He deserves what he has earned.
Was widely reported yesterday.
This is not a slam dunk for the Soldier.
