Indiana Gov. Mike Pence opened up his big endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz by praising Donald Trump at length in a radio interview. He told WIBC in Indianapolis that he "particularly" wanted "to commend Donald Trump, who I think has given voice to the frustration of millions of working Americans."
Pence also voiced his pleasure with Trump's focus on Carrier, which has announced controversial plans to move many jobs in its Indiana plant to Mexico.
The Indiana governor then announced his endorsement of Cruz.

“Indiana’s governor started off his endorsement of Ted Cruz with lengthy praise of Donald Trump”
Yep.
Not exactly bubbling over with enthusiasm for Cruz, is he?
Pence would have been better off not endorsing anyone, if this is the best he can do. He almost seems to be apologizing to Donald. Does he fear some backlash from Trumps supporters?
“Does he fear some backlash from Trumps supporters?”
in fact, pence probably does fear that; reports are that he’s in a VERY tight race for re-election, and no doubt he fears backlashes from one group or another. So, you’re right: pence should have just kept his mouth shut altogether.
“Ted Cruz and Paul Ryan and Mike Pence, they don’t know the difference between Pete Ricketts and Jon Bruning or any of the other candidates in this race,” said Bruning campaign manager Jordan McGrain. “They know his last name is Ricketts.”
As potential candidates work to woo Republican mega-donors, the contest offers presidential contenders entrée with a billionaire sugar daddy of the most literal variety: Joe Ricketts, the TD Ameritrade-founding, Chicago Cubs-owning billionaire who also happens to be the candidate’s father, has spent tens of millions of dollars supporting Republicans across the country, and his support in 2016 is already much-sought.
Does he fear some backlash from Trumps supporters? No, fears the GOP establishment.
Endorsed an eliminated candidate. That means he wants some damaging contested convention. But his nice words in the process for Trump is supposed to make you forgive him for the disaster that would happen. Chickenbleep.
That's what they said about Larry Craig:)
You nailed it ...Pence should have just stayed out of it ...Cruz and the face lift queen dragged him into their pile of dog squeeze ...
Well .. that’s okay .. because several of the stations I have listened to ....... have edited out all the comments about Cruz. They end the sound bite as soon as Pence says he will be voting for Cruz.
I didn’t have any issue with what was said about Trump (the comments were good); but when you’re giving an endorsement for someone, you should not preface your statement with a “somewhat” endorsement of another candidate. I think the GOP-e pressured Pence to comment about each person (Cruz and Trump).
But, the media has taken advantage of how the endorsement was made. And .. for my money, I think Pence got stiff-armed over the endorsement. So, I’m wondering if Pence is going to be up for re-election soon ..??
The reason I’m asking is because it has become suspicious that in recent years, comments have been made to people who are running for re-election that if they want money for their campaign, they need to cooperate.
While I realize this could be just a rumor, I have noticed a few politicians who have suddenly decided not to run for an office, or some who change their “beliefs” .. it seems to be a pattern.
He's currently in a very tight race with the guy who he barely beat 4 years ago.
Only poll I've heard had Pence just a tad outside the margin of error.
There's a lot of anti-Pence people that are going to be making a lot of noise this summer. He'll be lucky to survive.
I don't see this "endorsement" helping either Cruz or Pence.
He fears both Trump supporter backlash and the GOP. Has made some stupid moves as our Governor. He is a nice guy, but lacks an extremely important skill as a politician: keeping his tit out of the ringer. Any endorsement was a lose/lose situation for him. Extremely stupid to do a lackluster Cruz endorsement. A Trump endorsement (I am a Trump supporter) would have been as politically bad for him. His best move would have been to give a extremely wishy washy endorsement of Kasich only “because he knows it is a difficult job being a Governor”. His political advisers and or political instincts are idiots/idiotic.
And his best move would have been NO ENDORSEMENT.
Weenies like Pence are the reason the GOP is in its death throes. No backbone. No principles. Feckless.
I guess Cruz has edited out the pro-Trump portion of the speech. Trump can edit out the Cruz portion for his own use.
Pence is a “company man” through and through. Unfortunately he’s on the wrong side of destiny.
When Pence was asked who he was voting for, he should have just said, “it’s a secret ballot, and therefore, none of your business.” He should have just remained neutral, but I’m sure he was under pressure from the establishment and the #nevertrumpers.
You’re right, he would have been better off keeping his own counsel.
I first heard the endorsement on Rush and Rush was fumbling around talking to snerdly and crew in the background - confused..
It was funny and it nailed it for me that Rush is in the tank...
Pence is running for re-election .. isn’t that coincidental ..?????
