A public health expert and Seventh-day Adventist pastor was fired by Georgia's Department of Public Health after public officials were assigned to watch and review the content of his sermons on YouTube, official government documents indicate.
On Wednesday, The First Liberty Institute announced that it filed a lawsuit on behalf of Eric Walsh against the DPH, alleging that he was fired by the agency over concerns about his sermons' content on homosexuality.
As it is illegal under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to make employment decisions based on a person's religion, documents and email conversations obtained by First Liberty through the Freedom of Information Act appear to reveal a host of damning charges against the DPH.

Nathan Deal pay attention. You sold your soul to corporate America for this nonsense. This is on you.
are you kidding? it will go to a court that will agree with the decision sooner or later and that will be that.
states don’t hold power anymore. The fed dictates what they do
So there are laws banning Religious expression? Some lawyer is going to have a nice retirement.
I know at least where I live I can’t recall a time homosexuality was ever a part of a sermon. We decided long ago to never talk about this subject, which leaves only you and I to educate our children.
Calling Dr. Ben Carson, needed in an emergency situation.
The PC Nazis are in the Churches, just like in Canada.
The Feds do control through funding.
What communism was to the Soviet empire, homosex and depravity has become to America. People who don’t submit to the line have both the government and the culturally brainwashed citizenry at their throats.
I hope my eyes get to see the ignoble death of what currently constitutes this sick, evil nation that replaced what was once America.
All he has to do is say he was preaching from the Quran.
Let them choke on it!
About a month ago my church had a visitor. A young 20 something male whole looked like your typical hip Solcialist type (glasses, unkempt hair, sandels, etc). He had a notepad, and he sat with is smart phone in his hand during our Pastors message. He never came back.
Our churches webpage states the several beliefs of our church. One of them is “we believe marriage to be a sacred bond between only one man and one woman”. I wonder now if this kid was there to try and catch our pastor in an anti gay marriage rant?
“All he has to do is say he was preaching from the Quran.
Let them choke on it!”
Right on brother!
We have a first ammendment and freedom of religion in the first ammendment and the government can not infringe upon that or they are determining what a religion may say or believe. As long as he does not carry his religous beliefs over to his job as a public health MD he’s going to win this lawsuit.
Amen and go dude ^5

100 year fallout of the 17th Amendment.
embarrassed to say I don’t know it.
any chance you can sum it up in small worlds? :)

Right on brother! That should be the plan. When preachers want to preach about homosexuality all that they need to do is read it right out the evil Koran.
Could be. Or it could also be an angel checking to see how you treat outsiders.
There are many people who use their smart phone to view the Bible. I personally know a girl who is quadriplegic, and that is the only way she can read along. But even she has encountered people who wrongly assume she is texting in church.
Rigid standards of dress, hair styles, grooming, and other similar things like good manners, are standards you should strive to achieve for yourself. For others, you should aim to be as accepting and caring as you can. Does not mean you agree with them. Just means that human lives, and their eternal future, are more important than outward appearances.
Members of the US House were originally and still are elected to represent the people and so it was written into the Constitution that House members would be elected by a Popular Vote.
Members if the US Senate were originally appointed by a majority vote in state legislatures to represent states. In 1913, the 17th Amendment took this power away from state legislatures and gave it over to a Popular Vote.
Therefore, the people are represented by the House of Representatives and the US Senate. A US Senator is some sort of ‘Uber Representative’ of the people.
Why there needs to be a US Senate after the 17th Amendment is an interesting question. The US Senate no longer represents states and its members hardly represent individuals. Hence, they are prime targets for capture and control by financial interests which is what exists today.
What happened in the aftermath of the 17th Amendment is that State legislatures ceased to have any role in the affairs of the federal government and all power amassed in Washington DC.
To drive the point home, think what would happen if a similar Constitutional Amendment was passed to abolish the Electoral College. What would be the fallout? The fallout would be that New York and California would decide who is the US President. All voter power would leave less populous states and amass to NY and California.
The above should give you an idea of why the States are like doormats to the federal government.
Culture war over. Culture lost. Bigtime.
