About a month ago my church had a visitor. A young 20 something male whole looked like your typical hip Solcialist type (glasses, unkempt hair, sandels, etc). He had a notepad, and he sat with is smart phone in his hand during our Pastors message. He never came back.
Our churches webpage states the several beliefs of our church. One of them is “we believe marriage to be a sacred bond between only one man and one woman”. I wonder now if this kid was there to try and catch our pastor in an anti gay marriage rant?
Could be. Or it could also be an angel checking to see how you treat outsiders.
There are many people who use their smart phone to view the Bible. I personally know a girl who is quadriplegic, and that is the only way she can read along. But even she has encountered people who wrongly assume she is texting in church.
Rigid standards of dress, hair styles, grooming, and other similar things like good manners, are standards you should strive to achieve for yourself. For others, you should aim to be as accepting and caring as you can. Does not mean you agree with them. Just means that human lives, and their eternal future, are more important than outward appearances.
