The Loophole That Could Cost Donald Trump the Nomination
MSN News ^ | April 21, 2016 | NATE COHN

Pennsylvania, which holds its primary next Tuesday, uses a nonbinding “loophole” primary — and that could cost Donald Trump the Republican nomination.

If the state adopted the delegate rules of any other primary, he would probably be an even-money favorite, or better, to amass the 1,237 delegates needed before the convention.

Instead, his chances may come down to the whims of 54 unpledged Pennsylvania delegates.

The article implies that Trump will win the votes but not the delegates.

The Washington Insiders will do anything to wrest the election away from Trump.

“The Washington Insiders will do anything to wrest the election away from Trump.”

They should realize that by doing that they still lose the party. If they use means that look dishonest then they will get 40% of the party walking out the door. They will never win another election

Do Republican ELECTED SENATORS and ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES understand that if Trump reaches 1237 and then is dumped that they will be DESTROYED in November, as there is NO WAY that we Trump people are about to pull the lever for ANY REPUBLICAN at any level, if the party denies him the nomination.

Do THESE REPUBLICANS understand at all that this is not just about Trump anymore - it is THEIR CAREERS and the careers of their staffs and everyone else associated with the Republican party that is on the line here. About the only Republicans safe this year are the 30 or so Senators that are NOT up for re-election...the rest will be sent packing, if Trump is sent packing.

This is a LOT MORE than just Trump at this point, on the line. It is up to these elected people to put a stop to this crap, if they want to have a job in January.

Absolutely correct.

But they may do it, anyway, Kamikaze-style.

Ahh, but the delegates that’s... that’s where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that 1,237 unbound delegates DID exist, and I’d have produced those delegates if they hadn’t of pulled the rug out from under me. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow GOPe...

Trump has delegates in each congressional district, many say they will back whoever wins the state or district, while some have signed loyalty pledges.

Those 54 delegates just might receive a room service bling-bling gift bag upside their g*ddamned heads.

Not advocating any sort of violence mind you, but we already know that tensions will be high thanks to the machinations and schemes of the GOPe to, if at all possible, deny Trump the nomination.

It might just end up being a reflexive reaction for 1183 delegates to say "how about we pay a visit to the Pennsylvania delegation and let 'em know just how much we appreciate them?"

At that point, all bets are off.

I honestly don't think it matters. Many of them would be just as comfortable taking their resumes and switching to Democrat. As long as they're part of the established system in some way I don't think it matters to them.

We need to come up with more potent action.

Going by a lot of what I read here on Free Republic, it seems that Trump supporters would see the destruction of the Republican Party, the removal of Republican elected senators and representatives, as a feature, not a bug.

Yep, if he gets to 1237 and is still DENIED THE NOMINATION, you better believe we’ll take down the party as it can GO TO HELL.

On the other hand, if he gets to 1237 and is nominated, we will HAPPILY pull the lever for Republicans down-ballot and the party will survive.

If he gets less than 1237, we’ll play it by ear.

No, they know that the Dems won’t get near them. Many are actually pro-gun, pro-life, and pro-America and the Dems know it.

They’ll be hanging (law firm) shingles in front of their ‘homes’ next January, if they are lucky. DC will want NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM.

“Going by a lot of what I read here on Free Republic, it seems that Trump supporters would see the destruction of the Republican Party, the removal of Republican elected senators and representatives, as a feature, not a bug.”

Let’s put it this way:

(1) We elect Republicans that PROMISE TO STOP OBAMA, including stopping Obamacare - what happens, they fund it.

(2) We elect Republicans that PROMISE TO SECURE THE BORDER and stop Amnesty - what happens, they create the Gang of Eight and very nearly destroy this country through a mass Third World Amnesty.

(3) Elected Republicans oust Boehner because he’s playing way too much footsie with Obama, and (later proven on Frontline) was plotting to get the Gang of Eight bill through the House. What happens - he is replaced by SOMEONE WORSE - Paul Ryan.

The Republican Party has DESTROYED ITSELF, all we want to do is put that out of their misery at this point, and we WILL do that if Trump is denied the nomination, should he get to 1237 delegates. It will be OVER for virtually EVERY ELECTED REPUBLICAN.

This is now MUCH BIGGER than just stopping Trump...the stake are MUCH HIGHER NOW.

Hannity is putting the names of the delegates with the candidates to make it easier for voters to know who to vote for. I think that’s a great idea. Hopefully other websites do the same.

I'm picturing Rancid Penis, Tokyo Rove, Mitt Romney, Linda Graham clutching her pearls, iSnarly Fiorino, madly pounding on a forged steel door to a bunker somewhere in Texas marked "Bush Doomsday Shelter", screaming "you've GOT to let us IN!! the Republican Trump Rebels are coming!! They've got tar, feathers, rope, duct tape, and torches!!! PLEASE let us IN!!"

And this whiny little voice inside can be heard saying "Mommy? I think I hear something outside?" followed by "Don't you open that door Jebbie, there's no telling what riff-raff might be roaming around out there! Now go to your room and play with your Legos with cousin Teddy"

[commence shrieks and howls of terror mixed with demonic laughter from inside the bunker]

>>>Going by a lot of what I read here on Free Republic, it seems that Trump supporters would see the destruction of the Republican Party...

I am not a Trumpster....I voted for Cruz. HOWEVER...I advocate JUST THAT. The Republican Party MUST be abolished in its current form. There are a FEW who can stay...the rest of them need to be fired. I will vote for Trump because I believe he truly loves America and what we used to be.

Does he have an ego the size of Texas? Yep. Are his plans and ideas a little bit of a pipe dream and don't match what he can actually get accomplished? Probably.

But his intentions are real...and so are Hillary's. And so are the GOP-E. Given that choice...I will gladly vote for a guy who loves his country...over a woman who hates hers.

And make no mistake...that's what people will do if they sit out. And make no mistake...if Trump gets denied the nomination through hijinks...I'll bring the hammer and crowbar to the destruction party.

Bingo. The GOP needs to die. If they screw Trump I write him in this fall and vote straight Libertarian for every other office. If the GOP will deny the will of their voters there is no reason to ever vote GOP again. But largely, this is more disinformation from MSN. Not being talked about is that OR, WA, NM and yes Indiana are either proportional or modified WTA. Trump will score a minimum of 70 delegates from these states and possibly more than 100. With about 100 delegates coming his way next week, then 51 from NJ and over 100 from CA, it’s very clear Trump will get 1237. Ted really is a disgusting POS. No respect for him whatsoever.
