Intellectual diishonesty?

The thing that gas turned me off to Trump as first choice is the intellectual dishonesty Trump exhibits, and moreso his fanatic followers.

There is also just plain dishonesty, but that’s another issue.

Trump had a chance for greatness and screwed it up with trivia and pettiness.

He blew it.

The issue here is that Cruz was a driving force behind TPA.

It’s best for supporters of Ted Cruz to simply admit that and drive on or side with the current concept of free trade and defend his support of it.

People are allowed to dislike Donald Trump. It’s America....at least for a while longer unless Clinton wins for the 3rd term of Barack Obama.

Intellectual diishonesty?

It’s a fact Senator Cruz campaigned for TPA fast track while claiming to oppose Obamatrade. It’s a fact ZERO fast tracked trade deals have ever been voted down. Those positions are not intellectually consistent. If one opposes Obamatrade the proper action was to always oppose TPA. Cruz did not.

This is one of the great issues of our time. NAFTA on steroids. A true conservative should be revolted by Cruz’s intellectual dishonesty here. But I guess loving eyes can never see. Sad.

The game is all but over. If Trump comes up a little short, the GOP leadership will steer enough of their “unpledged delegates” his way for him to get the nomination. I feel badly about Cruz. His campaign has been completely infiltrated by people loyal to the party leadership. This was a deal with the devil; they never intended to let him win and still do not. They are destroying Cruz’s image and his future in politics. Even though it was the party insiders who disenfranchised the voters in Colorado, Wyoming and many other places all the blame will be directed toward Lyin’ Ted. this entire campaign season has been an eye opener.

Trump had a chance for greatness and screwed it up with trivia and pettiness.

If you were honestly bothered by that, you would be bothered by Cruz lying to your face over and over again. Fact is, Cruzers behave like sociopaths and cultists, believing anything Cruz does and making any excuse they can to oppose him.

Nice deflection, now tell us why Cruz supported TPA.

At this point, I’m still supporting Cruz as my first choice. Do I think he’s perfect? Of course not. But once again we are forced to choose between the lesser of two evils.

In my view here are a few pros and cons of each:

Trump pro:
political outsider, not a career politician
not politically correct, willing to say what a lot of people are thinking
opens up discussions about things that others are afraid to mention, shakes things up
financing his own campaign
RNC doesn’t like him
doesn’t take crap from anyone

Trump con:
buffoon
illogical
claims to be a Republican/conservative, yet has a very liberal past
too closely linked to the Clintons for my comfort
inherited wealth and power
supports eminent domain when it helps him and hurts the little guy
highly inconsistent, I’m concerned about whether he has an core convictions or is just self-serving
seems to have limited knowledge of foreign affairs (this could be overcome, but it gives me pause to hear some of the goofy remarks he makes on the topic)
not particularly bright (no, he’s not stupid, but he’s not super bright either)

Cruz pro:
staunchly and reliably conservative on nearly every issue
the most intellectually gifted candidate in my memory
has great command of the issues and would shred any opponent in an honest debate
has supported conservative positions when it was not popular to do so, risked his own career to do this
RNC doesn’t like him

Cruz con:
lawyer
career politician
lacking in charm
too closely connected with Wall Street (I don’t hate Wall Street, per se, but I am fully against cronyism)
Hispanic (I have nothing against Hispanics or any other ethnicity and no problem voting for them, but at this point in time (after 8 years of the AA candidate who got in mostly based on ethnicity) I would be a lot more comfortable with a WASP (and male) presidential candidate). I am not looking to vote for the first Hispanic or female or current popular “oppressed” group.

That post, like many others before it, by you and other Cruz supporters(?) exhibits a number of intersting things.

01. no actual rebuttal of the information in the article
02. the non specific charge of lies...
03. the non specific charge of intellectual dishonesty...
04. insults toward a candidate other than Cruz, despite that candidate not being the source of the charges
05. insults toward a candidate other than Cruz, despite that candidate not having done the same things Cruz is documented as having done
06. insults toward the supporters of another candidate, despite them not being the source of the charges
07. a charge another candidate screwed up...
- a. the other candiate didn’t make these charges
- b. the other candiate was not mentioned in this article
- c. the other candiate didn’t make the mistakes mentioned in this article
- d. the other candidate didn’t provide any trivia here
- e. the other candidate didn’t do anything reported here that was petty
08. there is an assumption on your part Trump is running to enhance his chance at greatness
09. no evidence of Trump blowing it was included in the presentation
10. your indifference to the view other FReepers would have of you, for such a clear propagandist approach to responding to the information
11. humans don’t act the way you are here, with no reason behind it
