A former senior advisor to Donald Trump thinks the Republican presidential front-runner should ask his delegates to promise to support him on every ballot at a contested convention by having them sign a loyalty pledge.
"We're going to produce a voluntary loyalty pledge that will say, if you're a Trump delegate, that you'll stick with Trump through all the ballots to reflect the will of the voters," veteran GOP strategist Roger Stone told Rolling Stone in an interview published Monday.
"We'll ask them to sign. It's voluntary, but we'll see who does it, and who the cockroaches are," he added.
Stone, who has been banned from appearing on CNN or MSNBC, recently threatened to "disclose the hotel and the room numbers" of delegates who choose to support Texas Sen. Ted Cruz or Ohio Gov. John Kasich after the first ballot at a multi-ballot convention.
"If you're from Pennsylvania, we'll tell you who the culprits are. We urge you to visit their hotel and find them," he said during a radio interview earlier this month.
Stone is no longer affiliated with the Trump campaign, but that hasn't stopped him from forcefully pushing a message that is nearly identical to Trump's about the delegate selection process in several states.
"This is what I call the big steal," Stone told Rolling Stone. "I don't mean Trump falls short of 1,237 delegates and they won't give him the nomination. What I've said is, Trump has the 1,237 votes until they unseat his delegates somewhere or play some other legal trickery to steal it from him."
The Forbes Plan Immediately form leader/delegate watchdog teams in your state. These teams need to be led by intelligent, aggressive people who clearly understand what's at stake and will not back down. Consisting of volunteers who are 100% committed to stopping this corrupt move by the GOP leadership and rogue delegates, team members must be willing to stop at nothing to take their country back.
The responsibilities of each state team will be as follows:
2. Compile a detailed database of the highest risk delegatesthose whove been granted permission from the Republican party leaders, to switch their votesat will, from Donald Trump to a candidate of their personal choice. The database should include name, home address, telephone #, email, employment address, photos of the delegates and their family members in digital format.
Be sure to reach out to all large pro-Trump groups including bikers for Trump, truckers, local working class unions, etc. to show the anger and might of the American people. We want each at-risk delegate, while in Cleveland, to receive urgent phone calls from their families and neighbors, that there is a massive demonstration happening in their front yard, with protesters waving signs that are warning that they not betray us. Keep the demonstrations peaceful, as long as that delegate does not switch his/her vote. This will make them think twice about defying the will of We The People. Powered by Boohle |
I love it!
Since the GOP is so big on loyalty pledges anywise, they ought to have no problem with this, right?
How American! Let’s all pledge loyalty to Der Führer
Step 1) Expose how weak Trump’s position really is.
Step 2) Cry about it.
Step 3) Return to Reality TV.
“by having them sign a loyalty pledge.”
Sorry I’m not trusting anyone at their word anymore. I want to see their votes. Everyones.
<<< and who the cockroaches are,” he added >>>
New York values. Whatta sweetheart of a guy.
Are there any Trump supporters who read this and realize maybe, just maybe they are supporting a candidate who is tacitly encouraging violence.
Trump supporters are now threatening delegates and their families. Exactly how does that help him in the eyes of the average American voter.
Here in Virginia, Trump criticized the loyalty oath. I guess that was then and this is now. Like being pro-life.
The Forbes plan is a year too late.
Gestapo tactics
And if they sign the loyalty pledge, this is what is behind door number 2 for them:

Stone has no relationship to the Trump campaign. He was let go last August. He heads a superpac. Since Cruz supporters have assured us again and again that there can be no coordination between a superpac and a campaign (It’s the law!) to be consistent we must assume there is none here.
Manafort has said on TV he doesn’t approve of the hotel room idea and that it doesn’t come from the campaign.
Lists of delegates are open information put out by state committees prior to the convention. You can still google lists from 2012.
The RNC started the loyalty pledge crap. I would have no problem with Trump rubbing their noses in it. But, this is Stone, not Trump.
Trump has specifically said he doesn’t advocate riots or violence. Predicting something is not the same as advocating, as I am sure you are astute enough to discern.
I wonder I they’ll have to learn the Heil Donald Salute, too?
When Cruz goes after delegates he didn’t win, he’s “just following the rules.”
When it’s suggested that Trump try to keep his pledged delegates loyal to him, he’s “encouraging violence.”
Got it!
You Cruz supporters are a sad, pathetic lot. Can’t wait for Ted to disappear from this race. Can’t happen soon enough.
It’s wrong to camp in front of someone’s home. Just my gut sense of honor. Families are not the problem, and any thought that families might be threatened would be met by me with absolute repudiation of anyone who came up with such a plan.
I abhor it in others. I abhor it here.
[All snarking aside]
Glad to hear it. Sadly, the guy that had that plan is not alone.
I wish that more Trump supporters and Trump himself would disassociate themselves from this kind of thing.
Unfortunately I've seen way too many who have actually supported this kind of thing...including here.
How would the Supreme Court feel about ‘rules’ that rob citizens of their votes?
Then you disagree when the RNC made all the candidates sign a loyalty pledge?
“Trump supporters are now threatening delegates and their families. Exactly how does that help him in the eyes of the average American voter.”
The average American voter gets how their vote doesn’t count when the delegate is coerced by Cruz or the RNC to bail on the candidate the voters chose.
This is why Cruz is tanking.
But, this is Stone, not Trump
Somehow, I doubt logic is going to have any effect on those belieivng in guilt by association...but imagine the caterwauling of the Cruz supporters if, say, Glenn Beck said something like ‘you people who vote for Trump are nothing but a bunch of Nazis, and should be rounded up’, and on FR Trump supporters charged Cruz with proposing this...
