Trump doesn’t bother to compete. He doesn’t have a competent team and he doesn’t like to work.
When he loses, he cries corruption and the echoes are heard all over Free Republic.

I understand that Trump is now bribing delegates... offering to pay airfare and hotels, etc.
It probably kills him to spend his own money like that.
The vote in most states bounds the delegates on the first ballot.
If the candidate can’t get a majority on the first ballot, then the delegates decide.
Not much different than the electoral college. If the electors don’t reach a majority, they go home and Congress picks the President.
I believe there is a second ballot in which most of the delegates are no longer bound by their original vote.
It’s the Convention that picks the candidate, not Congress.
No wonder you whine about cheating and corruption. For Trumpsters, not at all surprising.

I am with you on this. It is too convenient that the Cruz delegates are so abundant and well positioned. Even were a junior senator to have a super fantastic organization, this seems a bit too fine tuned to be arranged without the full conglomerate steering Cruzs team through. Part of the #nevertrump thing? Yes, I do believe that.
What will they do with Cruz if they shut The Donald out? I don’t believe he’s gonna get to dance with the ones that brought him. The machine is out to protect itself from the people, and has exposed that it neither needs our votes in the upcoming election, nor wants them. Do they want Cruz? I don’t get the feeling that they do, but he will be handsomely rewarded.
The Party leaders at the local level will do the delegate selecting. That is one fact that has come out over and over recently.
