Ted Cruz adviser says Donald Trump campaign taking 'banana republic' approach

A senior adviser to Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Sunday accused rival Donald Trump's campaign of taking a "banana republic approach" by complaining that party rules for selecting a nominee are rigged against him.

Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, the Texas senator's delegate operations manager, said on ABC's "This Week" that the Trump campaign is challenging the delegate selection process "because they're getting beat on the ground."

Cuccinelli and Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, as well as the third Republican candidate, Ohio Governor John Kasich, traded punches over the delegate selection process on Sunday news shows.

Trump remains the front-runner in the race to be the Republican Party's candidate in November's general election. But it remains unclear whether the billionaire businessman will arrive at the party's July 18-21 convention in Cleveland with the 1,237-delegate majority needed to clinch the nomination on the first ballot.

Whining Ted crying again because he is a loser. Why doesn't he just drop his cover story and re-register as a Demonrat? Leftists like CorrupTED shouldn't even be allowed in the Republican Party.

So tell me Ted. Which candidate wins election without votes?

I think you’ve been buying bananas at the wrong store.

Seems to be in keeping with Donald’s approach as a would-be reformer.

Methinks yes, Cruz does have bananas; yes Cruz does have bananas today.

But US politics is itself a fruit and nut store. It’s almost like complaining that your opponent violated the rules of Calvinball. Maybe it’s time for the GOPe to sing the Sorry Song.

Projection. Ted is trying to WIN the Banana Republic way: BRIBES. Trump called Ted out on it in each of his two speeches today. Trump said it was not right, and he wasn’t going to do what is not right.

No, I'm pretty sure it's because in some states the process is undemocratic and will pick the Party choice without regard to what their potential voters think.

And don't think that's an image that won't be with us for at least the next couple of decades.

Alinsky tactics by Cruz: Accuse someone else of doing what you are doing to deflect that you are doing it.

If Trump makes it in spite of the obstacles... get ready for at least four years of squealing on both left and right. They both have their games. Just because the left looks ugly in the window doesn’t mean the right doesn’t have some mirror gazing of its own to do.
