Nearly 200 Bernie Sanders supporters gathered last night with pots and pans outside Shervin Pishevar’s star-studded Clinton fundraiser, co-hosted by George and Amal Clooney. The Sanders supporters argued corporate interests were buying Clinton that night – tickets for Pishevar’s dinner started at $33,400 (for a seat at the Fairmont hotel) and went up to $353,400 (for a seat at his house). Most of those in the streets were young, and many were in tech.
“Tech workers are workers, no matter how much money they make. The investors are what’s wrong in this city,” said 24-year-old Tom Sliwowski, one of the Bay Area Movement For Bernie organizers and a PhD student at Berkeley. “Tech workers are the face of gentrification, but they’re not the cause.
“Also, let’s be honest, you can’t blame them for ruining the Mission when Palo Alto is so boring.”

No Sanders supporter here, but I do agree with him that the “contributions” required to attend that dinner, particularly to sit on the dais with her Thighness and George, are simply obscene. I cannot imagine Hillary agreed to it given the criticisms Sanders is leveling at her.

George Clooney’s next door neighbor held his own fundraiser — to benefit Bernie Sanders — during the actor’s posh Hollywood soiree Saturday night with Hillary Clinton.
Howard Gold, whose family founded the 99 Cents Only store chain, called his bash the “99% Party,” with tickets selling for $27 per person.
An email invite sent to Sanders supporters Saturday reads: “Swimming pools, Movie Stars, and merriment for all! This is happening right next door to Clooney's party for Hillary!"
The invite also notes that "no-one (will be) turned away for a lack of funds."
Hollywood’s power brokers, meanwhile, have spent weeks selling high-dollar tickets, starting at $33,400 per person, to the Clooney event in Studio City. Co-hosts include Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw and Haim and Cheryl Saban.
Gold's event turned into a pool party, pro-Sanders event and Clinton protest. As Clinton's motorcade arrived on the street headed to the Clooneys,' protesters showered her car with $1 bills.

[Blind Gossip] Whether you love or hate this Presidential Candidate, he certainly gets people talking. One of those people is a female journalist from a large media company. She had an affair with the married Candidate. She has been talking to friends and colleagues about how worried she is that the story of the affair will break nationally and ruin them both.

I’m sure the claim is that ‘greedy’ property owners are renting to the techies. Because preferring tenants over vacancy and high rents over low ones is greed. Right?
