Donald Trump is set to win West Virginia but GOP elites will likely give the delegates to Ted Cruz anyway.
Its the latest state where Cruz will lose but garner more delegates than Donald Trump. Cruz supporters call this a good ground game. The Politico reported: Donald Trump has a new enemy in the fight for national convention delegates: the alphabet.
Trump is well-positioned for a resounding victory in West Virginias May 10 primary, but his win will be accompanied by a delegate selection process stacked in favor of people with last names at the beginning of the alphabet rather than his most committed supporters.
Its a quirk of West Virginias mind-bogglingly complex delegate election process that has the Trump campaign on red alert and seems likely to leave the mogul with weaker support at the national convention than hes expected to earn in the states primary. Its yet another convoluted primary system likely to add fuel to Trumps complaints that the rules of the Republican nomination process are rigged.

I think it would be easier for Trumpy to start his own party than it is going to be for him to steal the nomination from the Republicans.... He might bring together all sorts of people to be part of his 3rd party. Who knows...?
You should start your own nation, since you don’t agree with the morals of the one you’re living in.
Screw you and the horse you rode in on sonny.
Trump played by the rules and has been striped of his delegates.
You are fronting for a man that broke to rules to take them.
Ted’s assessment of Trump’s value is of no consequence, and yet that was his argument, Trump would embarrass the district at the convention.
Ted is embarrassing all of us before the convention.
Nonetheless, this is evidence of a rigged system. Some will say, “But it’s the rules!”
What they are failing to see is that they are rules designed to stop unwanted candidates. It is no different than the democrats’ 700 super-delegates. More subtle perhaps, but with the same intent, and that intent is to give party insiders a final say on who the nominee will be.
In both parties it is a corrupt system.
There is no sane reason to remain with the GOP when this adventure is over.
KJam your opinion.
The party doesn’t select the nominee.
We as the members of the party do.
It’s truly sickening to me.
There is a reason people don't start out trying to blow up a political party... and then expect to be given the nomination by the same people you just blew up.... Geeze
I agree. It is corrupt.
Yep. It took a Presidential campaign for Cruz to show his true colors and be exposed for the status quo preserving DC insider that he is, with all the benefits that accrue for carrying the water of the GOPe.
And even with all the rigging and cheating, Cruz still has no chance of being the GOP nominee.
Once the convention comes around, Ted Cruz is going to find out just how wrong he was.
But you’re only recourse is to take your business somewhere else. Don’t you think? And the inconvenient truth... :).... is that they don’t care if you take your business somewhere else.
You have the reasoning power or a nine year old child.
The rules were that if you win a district, you get the delegates for that district.
Trump got zero.
You’re wrong and you’re running cover for corruption.
You need to join the Democrat party if that’s what you want to do.
US Constitution specifies 535 Delegates.
1237 is criminal behavior.
1237 is not equal to 535
You pinhead!
WTF is wrong with you?
The rules were that if you got the majority of votes in a district, you get the delegates.
Trump won and got zero from that district.
How can you come here and talk about rules, whey they are not sticking to the rules?
Gee, maybe I didn't.
Can you post the section of the article where trump already won a district in the West Virginia primary, that doesn't take place until May 10th?
You’re the one with the reasoning of a nine year old.... rules can be changed on a whim. That’s the bottom line. The party leadership....(right or wrong) is not going to let him steal it from them. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
We can vote for Trump in November, either as a Republican, third party, Independent, or write in vote.
They’re banking on the supposition that we would keep talking about the 1237 votes and the second ballot, when any of the rules can be changed, including the first-ballot rule. And we are still talking about it. Why?
I’ve thought about this - if Sanders got in how much would get done in D.C. Maybe damn little - which might be better than the witch doing what she wants wiht the approval of the globalists.
