Bernie Sanders' Income Is Less Than One Of Clinton's Paid Speeches
Townhall.com ^ | April 16, 2016 | Matt Vespa

We all knew the Clintons were rolling it–I’m talking about money of course. Yes, they’re also rolling in a bunch of lies, especially when it comes to the former first lady’s completely avoidable email fiasco and Benghazi. Nevertheless, if there’s a stark difference between Clinton and her Democratic opponent, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, it’s their tax returns. Sanders’ entire income for the year amounted to less than one of those luxurious paid speeches Clinton is asked to deliver at various companies and banking institutions (via Weekly Standard):

Bernie Sanders reportedly earned just over $200,000 in 2014. That same year, Hillary Clinton, Sanders's top Democratic rival, gave about 45 paid speeches, many of which paid her more in a single hour than Sanders made the entire year.

The Washington Post reports on Sanders's income. "The senator from Vermont reported income of just more than $200,000 on his 2014 returns, according to the first few pages of his federal and Vermont filings, which were shared with The Washington Post back in June. On Friday, the couple is planning to release the rest of the returns, including attached schedules," writes the paper. "The vast majority of the couple's income came from Sanders's $174,000 Senate salary and Social Security benefits that both he and his wife, Jane, a former college president, receive."

In 2014 alone, Clinton gave speeches to GE (for $225,500), the National Automobile Dealers Association ($325,500), Deutsche Bank AG ($280,000), and many more.

As CNN reported at the beginning of this year, "Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, combined to earn more than $153 million in paid speeches from 2001 until Hillary Clinton launched her presidential campaign last spring, a CNN analysis shows.

Again, this isn’t shocking as we all expected the Clintons to heavily outearn the disheveled democratic socialist. At the same time, this will only bolster Sanders’ supporters by reinforcing what many Democrats, who are part of the left wing of the party, already think about Clinton: she’s egregiously inauthentic. For a woman who hasn’t really lived a normal life since Bill was elected Governor of Arkansas for most of the 1980s, which only ended when he was elected president in 1992–they have a point. Moreover, can Hillary truly know what it’s like for America’s working class when she, and Bill, make in one speech what most Americans earn in their entire lifetimes? No, they don’t. To make matter worse, Cortney noted that Hillary joined a Verizon worker picket line after she had accepted $225,000 from the telecommunications company? Over 30,000 Verizon workers went on strike this week–the largest in decades. This stunt looks shamelessly opportunistic and unnatural from Clinton, further accentuating her authenticity problem with the Democratic base. Yet, to give the former Secretary of State a little cover, this is a political development on the campaign trail–she had to do something. Sadly, it was more of a Catch-22 situation.

On the other hand, let’s not let Sanders off the hook. Yes, young liberals may love him. Yes, he kills Clinton on trust and honesty regarding character traits. Yes, he says everything the far left of the party (which is growing in influence) wants to hear this cycle. But he doesn’t know how to achieve it. We saw this explicitly during Sanders’ disastrous editorial meeting with The New York Daily News editorial board. The man simply doesn’t know how to achieve any of the goals he has laid out before voters. So, Sanders is Mr. Humble regarding wealth, and Mr. Authentic compared to Mrs. Clinton, but he has no clue what the hell he’s talking about. His vision for the country lacks an action plan, which is why both candidates are awful. Then again, the Republican side isn’t much better.

So it take Hillary two speeches to make the top 1% they all keep harping on.

Closing Debate Statement by Bernie Sanders.

“Madame Secretary, we’ve been on this stage for roughly two hours. Given the assumption of fair treatment I’ll assume your part of that is about 1 hour.”

“Madame, in that one hour (or less) you have in the past given dozens of paid speeches for clients unknown that, each one, far outstrip what I make in a year.”

“I’d like EVERY voter out there to understand this and see it for what it really is. It is impossible to be ‘down with the struggle’ of the common citizen when you view it from your castle tower.”

The Clintons astounding honoraria augment the couples mega income. Bill's honoraria increased dramatically pocketing some $50 million during Hillary's four- year term as Secretary of State....including an Irish scholarship fund, a Korean conglomerate, and, a Nigerian newspaper company......each of whom paid Clinton more than half a million dollars for a single speech.

The Wash/Post reports Hillary earned $11.7 million for 51 speeches since Jan 2014.....she pocketed an astonishing $625,000 for two speeches in one day.

This was perhaps one of the dumbest things Hillary demanded to see. And now she has poop all over her face. Too Funny

At first glance, the Clintons astounding honoraria and humongous Foundation donations seem to provide the bulk of the couples mega income.

Bills honoraria increased dramatically pocketing some $50 million during Hillarys four-year term as Secretary of State....including an Irish scholarship fund, a Korean conglomerate, and, a Nigerian newspaper company......each of whom paid Clinton more than half a million dollars for a single speech.

The Wash/Post reports Hillary earned $11.7 million for 51 speeches since Jan 2014.....she pocketed an astonishing $625,000 for two speeches in one day.

===============================================

I firmly believe the Clinton Foundations gigantic donor list, and their astonishing blizzard of speaking honoraria, are a smoke screen for their secret wealth....and the way they make billions sub rosa....intertwining their vaunted do-goodism and their multiple tax-paid public offices.

The calculated Clintons have sought to branch out into other business activities. All of that is kept under wraps. Very little is known about the exact nature and financial worth of Bill and Hillarys non-speech business interests.

Reports keep surfacing indicating the Clintons were party to multi/billion dollar Mideast arms deals....Kazakhstan uranium mines....and Haitian gold mines...Libyan oil deals....telecom businesses, deals w/ financial powerhouses like Teneo, Goldman Sachs.....etc etc etc.

THE CON ARTIST CLINTONS GRABBED EVERYTHNG THAT WASNT NAILED DOWN Lucrative business interests were cunningly intertwined w/ the Foundations transparent do-good activities....enabled by Hillarys catbird seat at the State Dept.

At last count, the Clintons apparently raised an astounding $2 billion from their foundation activities and their political campaigns.....

.....does not include monies flowing in from the various lucrative business ventures, interest accrued, safe deposit boxes, real estate assets, passive income on which they pay no taxes, income from Chelseas hubbys hedge fund, monies invested in Goldman Sachs, interest in financial powerhouse Teneo..... etc etc etc.......

================================================

The Clintons are worth a bundle.....accumulated in record time. Their livelihood was collected as they marched through American politics.

[[Bernie Sanders reportedly earned just over $200,000 in 2014.]]

Hmmm- try living on less than $12,000 a year Bernie- then you can preach to the masses about income inequality- you sir are rich- please stop pretending you aren’t and that you hate capitalism-

this is why most of the D party voters want Bernie the Red.
his politics are same as Hilary’s.... (alas!!!) ... but he appears (at least) much more honest (does not sell himself out on a daily basis)
so it appears, anyway

if there’s one sentiment we keep hearing from D friends, its that they RESENT Hillary’s being force-fed down their throats over and over and over again when they do not want her (and do not trust her)

That applies to conservative elites like Rove, Jeb, and the rest of the GOPe Establishment too..

1) he’s only been in the workforce for 30 years...short time in retrospect.
2) let’s see what gets after he’s hired to speak, write books etc. post-election. I highly doubt he will turn it down or donate to the poor starving college students.
