"Colorado Vote Matters" Rally- reaction to GOP delegate manipulation against Trump supporters
Pieced from 3 Colorado news sources all linked from Green Papers(below) ^ | April 15, 2016 | Self- gathered from 3 CO news sources

Today in Denver, Donald Trump’s supporters are holding a massive protest party and expecting 1,000 people to attend. Trump's supporters have been disenfranchised by the Colorado Republican Party. They plan to protest at the state Capitol building Friday from 4PM - 7PM.

The organizer, Erin Behrens, leads her own personal effort called “Colorado Votes Matter.”

Trump was awarded zero national delegates at the state GOP convention in Colorado Sorings and Cruz was awarded all the delegates. The caucus result touched off an avalanche of complaints from Trump supporters in Colorado. Many republicans felt disenfranchised and have spoken directly to the Colorado party chairman, Steve House.

Erin of "Colorado Votes Matter" is a stay-at-home mom with a background in professional marketing from Arvada, CO. She is an unpaid soft-spoken Trump supporter who felt the calling to do the right thing. Erin Behrens has said that she does not place a huge amount of blame on individual GOP members. However, she sees that the system was deliberately changed to create, manipulate, and discourage anti-establishment candidates to run for office. This is a huge problem for Republican voters.

A peaceful protest on the West steps of the state capitol on Friday is called to bring attention to the disenfranchisement of Republican. Behrens claims that the 34 national delegates selected do not accurately represent Coloradans.

Trump himself has been tweeting to promote the event. "Big protest march in Colorado on Friday afternoon! Don't let the bosses take your vote!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 14, 2016" Trump stated that the state party cancelled its March 1st presidential preference poll to specifically to impede his candidacy.

Erin Behrens has stated that Trump supporters walked out of her March 1 precinct caucus site in frustration when they were informed by the precinct captain that there was no official straw poll. In other words, Trump supporters in Colorado were not to be recognized. She went on to say that the whole system was designed to favor people who have been volunteering for decades and it doesn’t promote voter participation.

Trump supporters’ suspicion and disgust for the state GOP was exasperated when the party tweeted an anti-Trump message from its official account on Saturday. The Colorado GOP initially denied the tweet was from their account and then scrambled to delete the message. They now claim the message as an unauthorized official tweet.

Currently, there are hundreds of Trump supporters on the steps of the Capitol. Some are demanding that every Colorado delegate be thrown out of the convention because they are Trojan horse delegates and unrepresentative of the state of Colorado. Many are hoping that the Trump campaign formally challenges the credentials of Colorado's delegates if the Cleveland convention is indeed contested.

Others feel that it's high time (pun intended) to call for an emergency election to determine who Colorado would actually nominate for the Republican party presidential nominee. This could be a viable solution since with plenty of time left before the convention. Perhaps if Colorado imposed a one day surcharge tax for their upcoming 4/20 marijuana pilgrimage, they could afford a fair, yet hazy election. And the herb-taxed-folks would be to buzzed to know the difference.

Colorado rules, regs. timing of events, links to Colorado papers including The Denver Post and Coloradan, plus a current list of the newly slated 2016 delegation at: http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/CO-R

Colorado's largest voting bloc are Independents at 1,175,000. They are about evenly split between Republicans and Democrats just under 1 million voters each.

After this caucus charade, the GOP may have totally sabotaged the odds of a Colorado Republican win. Regardless of who emerges as the nominee the negativity may stick. It will be interesting to see if the events will repel the Colorado Independent voters from the party and if traditional Republican voters react en masse in a retaliatory fashion.

I still think that if the CO GOP hadn’t sent out their “we did it!! #nevertrump” tweet, left some Trump delegates off the ballot, and didn’t let one of their insider groups circulate a resolution barring people from supporting Trump, all this would have just blown over as “politics as usual,” but with all that has gone on, it looks really sleazy.

Hey, NOOB, I wonder how many of these protestors bothered to show up and actually vote at their local precinct meeting on March 1st that started the delegate selection process? ANY REGISTERED REPUBLICAN RESIDENT OF COLORADO WAS ELIGIBLE TO DO THAT — if they wanted to do that.

There WAS a vote, NOOB.

If Cruz were the principled conservative he claims, he would distance himself from the CO debacle and call for a redo.

As it is, he seems to be happy to take the result. This shows him to be a “win at any cost” sleaze ball, and is likely to cost him delegates in the long run. Actually, I think polls are already showing him slipping... Kasich is ahead of him in some polls now.

Whatever. Only one candidate has come out for the people on this election cycle.

Hey, Jackass, what the heck is it with you and this “NOOB” bullshiite that you pollute this blog with incessantly? I informed you before in an earlier post, just because someone doesn’t have a twenty year old screen name here doesn’t mean that they haven’t been posting on this site for many years under other, older, screen names and that they haven’t been “lurking” here for many years. You just don’t know! I told you before, but you’re apparently too dense to stop it.

not a vote where voters got to choose an actual presidential candidate.

it seems other states caucuses they let you vote for a candidate, not just vote to pick people who will pick candidate at convention or whatever they bizarre scenario CO does.

Hey BOOB.

Team Cruz’s Colorado Crap is going to sink Fidelito at a quicker pace.

Carry-on.

Not everyone is rich enough and physically able to drive to Colorado Springs to attend a convention just to cast a ballot. The whole thing is a sham.

Did you actually listen to the video? In the guy’s precinct, he showed up (out of 16 total), ran for precinct delegate WAS ELECTED, and went to the state national convention.

But at the convention, there are 3,950+ Colorado state delegates trying to fill 37 NATIONAL delegate positions. This is a reduction factor of 10 to 1. So at the convention, the state delegates vote for the 37 people that are going to represent the state.

Did the Trump group show up with enough delegates to ensure their delegate slate was elected? No, he did not.
