Always trust AP.

After all, they are only 98% Marxist.

They leave a bit of room for opposing viewpoints....

Not me,I’d pay much more for USA quality.

More frequent replacement cancels out any savings.

Americans have been conditioned to prefer lower cost items...however, that conditioning can and will be reversed if/when the manufacture of those goods returns to the USA.

I am old enough to remember when a “Made in China” stamp on a product labeled it as unwanted merchandise.

Just because it is made overseas does not mean the price is cheap.

J Crew is expensive and all their clothes are made in China.
Where do you think Nikes shoes are made and they are expensive as well.

And, don’t kid yourself (not that you are) there are lots of folks who prefer to hire illegal labor. And there were some who were making careers out of it, with phony SSN’s.

Slightly change the question. Would Americans pay more for higher quality items made in America, or prefer low cost single use trash made in China.

IO would pay a premium for products made in the USA. I live in a small town and try to visit the hardware store in lieu of Home Depot for example.

Control the unfair union and government restraints. Surprise, America suddenly again becomes the great low cost producer for the world.

Oil companies make $.05/gal Goberment makes $.42/gal and gets additional kickback from the corn states. Un-rig the game before throwing stones at the consumer.

If I paid people a hundred dollars a month NOT to mow their lawns they would start preferring shaggy yards too... Anyone hear of 'incentives'...or 'reinforcements'?

Too many American companies ruined their reputation. Even the ones that have righted the ship lost a lot of good will.

Employers now seek workers with college degrees, leaving those with only a high school degree who once would have held assembly lines jobs

Assembly line workers with college degrees ain't gonna fly. You'll never be able to keep them interested and on task.

Believe me folks would much prefer to purchase better quality products produced here even if they have to pay slightly more. Over the long run you end up saving money since the product will last much longer.

The key is to bring back good jobs so the folks can afford to buy quality products.

If the quality is low, then, yes - cheaper is better. But if the USA made goods are better, then the price is justified.

So they need to realize bringing jobs back to America stops the drain on the taxpayer and leads to more disposable income which keeps our wealth IN our country leading to MORE jobs IN our country, leading to more competition and lower prices,. BASIC economics that they don’t teach in schools anymore.

Not those of us who remember a time when most items were of higher quality and things with moving parts were built in a way they could be repaired instead of tossed into the trash.

wrong question.

would you rather have a job? or have slightly cheaper items available to purchase?

Is the correct question.

According to the American MEDIA and the DEMOCRAT party American companies are those who are polluting the earth, sickening their customers, mistreating their poor downtrodden employees, cheating the government, ripping off the consumer, endangering people’s health for EVIL profits, corrupting the culture, and mistreating third world countries.
When an American consumer reaches for a product, the evil American name jumps out and he/she remembers yesterday’s rant by a Democrat politician about the company’s evil deeds.
Result..buy something from a third world tyranny, where nothing is openly said about anything.
