Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are definitely onto something.
The top 10 states with the brightest economic future are all solidly Republican or leaning that way. These states have the common denominator of less taxation and government spending, right to work labor laws, and efforts to curtail out-of-control pension costs. The bottom states reflect the opposite prognosis and are almost all solidly Democratic.
A study released today by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) looked at 15 variables such as income tax rates, property tax burden, workers compensation costs, minimum wage levels and state/local debt to compile its yearly Rich States, Poor States

Inidiana ranks #6. Legacy of Governor Mitch Daniels, a Republican legislature, and sound fiscal and business policy.
No way the blue states change their policies. It would involve liberal politicians saying no to people who aren’t used to hearing that word.
That is very true.
The Fracking Implosion is beginning to ripple down to the little guy in Texas.
We have survived this before (Mid 70’s), Then the banking Disaster of the 80’s, and will do so again under the excellent stewardship of Gov. Abbott.
Go ahead (snicker) - have another one...
Blue states will not change one bit.
Instead, they will try to share their poverty and indebtedness with the remaining states via federal handouts or by federalizing as many state actions as possible, whether healthcare, education, police, or whatever.

No, blue states aren’t changing anything except for raising even more taxes perhaps.
Texas is ranked 12th but it is interesting that three of the largest cities - Houston, Dallas and El Paso - have major financial problems because of grossly underfunded retirement plans. Will certainly be interesting to see how Houston’s new Democrat mayor handles pressing financial needs of the city, particularly in the face of declining revenues from the oil industry.
In West Virginia obama’s EPA is doing all that it can to kill coal. After they do that they will kill natural gas. The state budget is mess, needless to say Dear Leader is not thought of to highly here.

Did not that state vote solidly for O’Bunghole twice. Emperor Nero Kardashian Narcissus stated pretty crystal clearly what his plans were in 2008.

The real question will be “can the top 10 take on the bottom 10 and win”?
No in presidential elections since 2000 it has voted for R’s. Both chambers of the legislature went R in 14, first time in over 80 years. It is slowly turning red.
Too bad most of your fellow Californians who are migrating are voting the exact same way they did in California.
Messing up the state for the rest of us.
