Clinton misleads with Vermont gun claim; even supporters say it’s inaccurate

Hillary Clinton’s claim that Vermont is a key culprit in New York gun crime is misleading at best, federal data show, and even some of Clinton’s own supporters Tuesday turned on the former first lady and said her argument doesn’t hold water.
Mrs. Clinton made the charge Monday night at a roundtable discussion on gun violence in New York and used it as ammunition in making the case her primary opponent, Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont, is far too weak on gun laws.
She cited ATF figures showing that, when adjusting for population, more guns from Vermont were found at New York crime scenes than firearms from any other state.
“Here’s what I want you to know: Most of the guns that are used in crimes and violence and killings in New York come from out of state,” Mrs. Clinton said at the Port Washington forum. “And the state that has the highest per capita number of those guns that end up committing crimes in New York come from Vermont.”
Her argument technically is correct, but the raw numbers tell a much different story.
The ATF data — which traces the source states of firearms recovered and seized by authorities in New York — show that just 55 Vermont guns were recovered in New York in 2014, making Vermont the 14th highest offender nationwide.

Leftist MO: say something emotional, move on to the next point while opponents tie themselves in knots trying to denounce the objective errors when the intended audience didn’t care about detailed accuracy. Her mistake this time was using the technique on a fellow Leftist.

Sanders is closing the gap in NY and just might defeat Hillary in the NY primary. If that happens she will begin to panic and her vile, nasty nature will be put on full display. She will do and say whatever it will take to destroy Sanders. It will be a spectacle that ought not be lost on the America electorate. They will get a glimpse of the real nature of the corrupt, inherently dishonest, mean woman of no real accomplishment that they are being asked to elect as their President. In a perfect world it would sink her, but in an America that elected and reelected Obama, alas, it may not matter.

I think it’s hilarious that the Rat Gov. Shumlin and a supporter of hers is upset with her.
If Hillary ends up losing this second bid for the WH she’ll be mad enough to chew nails, it’ll be a beautiful sight.

I was unaware that an INANIMATE OBJECT like a wrench, a hammer, or a gun could could even go out and commit a crime; regardless of which state it came from.
