If Trump loses you will wind up with Another 4 years of democrats, pure and simple. The GOP has not won the popular vote for president, with the sole exception of the re election of a wartime president, and then only by about 2.5% of the vote, in 28 years.

Now they have someone who is honestly expanding the base and they would rather destroy him than anything else.

The GOP is committing suicide.

RUSH, Let me help. Yes this is about the future and ultimately taking back the Republican Party.

BUT, don’t overlook the near term serious ramifications - many millions of Trump voters will not vote, that will allow many down ballot Republicans to lose any close races.

Trump could be the catalyst which causes a new party....either completely new, or under the existing Republican brand.

Either way is good.

But if Trump doesn’t stick with it, then I’m not sure it will happen. A populist movement does need someone to channel that energy into actual organizing and structure. I don’t see anyone else being able to do that.

So what this movement becomes, is sort of up to Trump in my humble opinion. To the extent Buchanan thinks it will organically take on organization even without Trump, I’d have to disagree.

But I hope Pat is right.
