You have to be a registered Republican by March 25 to vote in the Republican primary. Not exactly a year in advance.
There are 12 or so states with same day registration, and the NYT, Schumer, and the entire democrat party have been pushing it for others for years.
I was truly surprised that they did not have it when they’ve worked overtime shoving it down others’ throats.
Our county has around 245,000 registered voters and only three full-time employees in the election bureau. Yes, they do call on other departments for elections, but the routine stuff of changing, adding and deleting registrations fall on the full-time employees, so a five week deadline is NOT unreasonable.
I’m pretty sure that the March 25 date is for first-time voters only. I had to check it out because my youngest turned 18 in February, and he needed to get it done by March 25 (which he did).
Previous voters have to change party affiliations sometime in October of the year before a primary. That would have been Oct. of 2015.
Regards,
How rude to make a Trump follow the rules!
Sounding more like the DONEald ain’t much on details or planning.
Change of affiliation was by October 15, 2015.
More of those blasted republican party primary rules.... sheesh... someone ought to write all those down or something so Trumpy can understand them.....
