By the Numbers=> Donald Trump’s Victory in New York Will Be Beginning of the End for Ted Cruz
Gateway Pundit ^ | 4/9/2016 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 04/10/2016 8:01:25 AM PDT by GilGil

After the New York primary, based on today’s numbers and polling data, Trump will have a nearly 5 to 1 ratio over Cruz in primaries. Trump will have 150% of the number of delegates as Ted Cruz. He will have amassed nearly 150% of the number of votes as Cruz.

With the following week having primaries in five more East Coast states, it will be time for Cruz to begin his exit strategy. Cruz will be unable to win the Republican nomination outright after April 26th. He will need more delegates than are available and Trump will have a nearly 6 to 1 ratio over Cruz in primaries. Trump also will have won more than half of the 50 state’s contests and nearly two and a half times that of Cruz.

The longer Cruz hangs on after the April primaries the more dissatisfied Republican voters will be with Cruz. Calls will come for Cruz to resign and the voters will show their disgust. Cruz’s strategy of taking the election from a popular candidate, who will have won nearly six times the number of primaries as he, will become unreasonable and classless.

There is nothing that says Cruz has to drop out. The famous "rules" give him every right to take this as far as he wants. Never mind the famous "rules" can be changed into new famous "rules" at the convention which means the rules mean nothing.

What is more interesting in this article is the following. " The longer Cruz hangs on after the April primaries the more dissatisfied Republican voters will be with Cruz. Cruz’s strategy of taking the election from a popular candidate, who will have won nearly six times the number of primaries as he, will become unreasonable and classless."

After the 26th the remaining primary voters will know there is no way Cruz can win through the primary process (outside of delegate theft)but Trump can and most likely will. Remember Paul Manafort's forecast that Trump wins 1237 before June. You also can't underestimate just how much people loathe lawyers. People hate them with a passion. Cruz boasting he is a world class lawyer is a big negative. What Cruz is doing now is what lawyers excel at which is to bend and twist things to screw Trump. Tens of millions of people can identify with this brand of screwing. Half of Americans have been divorced. They know first hand what a lawyerly screwing is like.

That kind of screwing is very familiar to almost every adult American. I suspect the word "scumbag" will come to people's minds when they will think of Cruz after April 26th.

Over and over...the media keeps saying the party does not like Cruz.

As far as Trump...they say they don't know how to deal with him.

Sounds like they should read a certain book.

Clue...."Deal"

I disagree with Hoft.

Cruz has a plan, a devious plan that certainly very few voters except the most rapid Cruzoids would support. I don’t know what it is, but clearly he has a plan to win on the FIRST ballot.

I say this because he is too smart not to know that if it goes to a second ballot, he will never, NEVER, . . . EVER be the nominee. He has to know he is a sock puppet put up to stop Trump in order to get a Rubio or a Walker or someone else in. I’m sure he knows that. Therefore, I don’t believe he is angling for Veep any longer. I think he has a plan to steal it on round one, perhaps by controlling Trump state delegations with his little insiders so they “pass” when called to build up perceived “momentum” for Cruz. Now, I have no idea what that gains him . . . legally, by the rules . . . but we know he doesn’t care about that stuff.

But I do think he has a plan to steal it on the first round. He knows he can’t make it through a second.

“outside of delegate theft”

Trump owns no delegates as 70% will be unbound after the first ballot.

Delegates choosing to vote for Cruz on the second ballot are NOT “stolen”.

Grow up and get over it.

Why does the Author think that the Cruzbanos care anything about votes or delegates? They are just waiting to win a backroom with the GOPe

This assumes Trump does not get to 1237 before the convention. According to Manafort he will.

Cruz is a lawyer and he is now acting like one. He is weaseling himself into the election.

As I said he has every right to do so.

He cannot force people to vote for him unless of course he figures out a way to steal their general election ballots and votes for them. You never know. He may figure out how to do that too!

You know who does “own” the delegates, the voters. for Cruz to say he’s found a way to swipe those delegates if they don’t get it right the first time is evil.

I will post again for the billion time the goal is to get to 1237 or prevent your competitors from getting to that number and winning a contested convention.

What makes this article worthless is quoting mark Levin that Cruz should get out for the good of the party.

Mark Levin went full #NeverTrump on Friday.

This reminds me of when my mother or father used to make decisions for me I hated at the time. They know best. Cruz knows best what is good for you. Not going to go over well.

Tell that to the millions who will be disenfranchised. Do you really think they will vote after Cruz/establishment steals their votes?

Pray America wakes

When the facts come out about Lyin’ Ted, even the staunchest Cruzers will not be abot to run, not walk, away from him fast enough.

“Donald Trump’s Victory in New York Will Be Beginning of the End for Ted Cruz”...

Saying it doesn’t make it so. The GOPe will have the LAST word and it will destroy them permanently.

Yes this is similar to what I have been saying. Voters want their vote to count they want to vote for a winner. After April 26th Cruz will have no chance to win and Donald Trump will be out there everyday calling for Cruz to get out so the party can unite and also calling him a spoiler.

All of this titter about Cruz stealing delegates for a second ballot at the convention is a bunch of hockey tock.
