South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said a bill that's winding through the legislature to limit transgenders to public restrooms that correspond to their birth genders is not needed – that she hasn't fielded any complaints that would require such legislative steps.
"I don't believe it's necessary," she said, during a press conference reported on by the State. "There's not one instance that I'm aware of." Haley went on, the State reported: "When we look at our situation, we're not hearing of anybody's religious liberties that are being violated, and we're again not hearing any citizens that are being violated in terms of freedoms. Like it or not, South Carolina is doing really well when it comes to respect and when it comes to kindness and when it comes to acceptance. For people to imply it's not, I beg to differ."
Her comments seemed to imply she would not be signing the bill described by its sponsor, Sen. Lee Bright, as a "public safety" measure, and "totally different from a religious freedom bill," the State reported. Meanwhile, North Carolina recently passed a measure that bans local governments from approving policies that protect the LGBT crowd from housing and employment discrimination, in much the same way as different races are protected. Mississippi, around the same time, passed a law that lets businesses refuse service to those who violate the owners’ religious beliefs...

I hope that she runs for re-election so she can be SOUNDLY defeated in the primaries by someone who will actually stand on principle and represent the people who elected them.

Kingstree (SOUTH CAROLINA) police are investigating allegations that a 14-year-old girl was raped last Friday by a fellow student at Kingstree Middle School, according to Kingstree Assistant Police Chief Marc Whitfield.[LINK]
The police report said the incident happened inside a stall of the girls' bathroom.
An excerpt from the report says, "The victim stated that she went to the restroom during lunch. The victim stated that a male student entered into the restroom and crawled under the stall that she occupied, while she was using the restroom. The victim stated she asked the subject, 'What are you doing in here?' The victim stated that the subject applied, 'Come on.' The victim stated that she tried to open the restroom stall, but the subject pushed her away from the stall door. The victim stated that the subject locked the bathroom stall at that time. The victim stated that the subject pushed her into the corner and pulled her pants down.

Haley has been an excellent governor. I know because I live in SC. She has fought the Repub rinos (many are converted Dems) and lowered taxes, shrunk government, brought huge new business into the state, and worked endlessly for ethical reforms to stop the corruption. As for this nonsense about Kingstree posted earlier, anyone who wants to take allegations and consider it the final truth is foolish.

A teacher walked in on the boy and girl in the girls’ restroom, together inside a stall. The girl said he had raped her. The boy denied it. The school suspended both of them, without an investigation. They never notified law enforcement of the rape allegation. They didn’t secure the scene or any evidence. Law enforcement was notified by the hospital when the alleged victim went in for a rape kit. By then, evidence had been destroyed.
This is just another crime covered up by this school’s administrators. The link I just gave outlines a couple more.
Whether the boy raped the girl or they had consensual sex, there is no doubt the boy was in the girl’s restroom. At best it was consensual sex between a boy and a girl in the girls’ restroom. That sounds to me like a problem.
As a woman she be first to protect women’s right to privacy by keeping biological men out of women’s restrooms and locker rooms.
