If he can get over 50% in NY and take ALL of those delegates...He will all but eliminate any mathematical chance for Cruz (not quite...but so close as to not matter).
If that happens, IMHO, Cruz should very soon thereafter throw in with Trump, unite the party, deliver a body slam to the GOPe, and deliver a ticker that will absolutely win in November.
I am a Cruz supporter...but this is what we need to do to keep our eye on the two real goals. Which are:
1) Defeat the dems and prevent a 3rd Obama term.
2) Deliver that body slam to the GOPe.
Cruz can make that happen and should do so as soon as his mathematical path to the nomination is ended...it would be best for the nation.
I really like your post.
It would also be best for Cruz, to settle for being Trump’s VP instead of going back to the Senate.
It positions him to run for POTUS in ‘24 or maybe even ‘20, while he’s still young.
Get a little public management experience, influence some SCOTUS choices, maybe even preside as President of the Senate.
Sounds like a great idea for Trump, but for one thing ...
You ever go to work for a guy who spent the previous year calling you lyin’ Jeff in every public forum known to God and man?
That they are locked in political only theatre strains credulity IMHO.
This is way beyond voodoo economics. That was still policy based. The exchanges between the these two slipped way over the personal line a while back.
Well put.
You are absolutely right! For the good of country, we should unite...but the problem is the GOPe is financing and supporting Cruz now, and I really don’t think he is the big outsider that a lot of people thought he was. At very least not anymore anyways.
“... keep our eye on the two real goals...”
Post of the day!! Logic prevails for you! Now how can we get the childish name-callers (on both sides) to knock it off? and #”NeverCruz and get #”NeverTrump types to see reason - we MUST beat Hillary! This #Never thinking has to go away.
I am a Trump fan, but if Trump’s delegate count status ever were to end up into the “it-is-a-mathematical-impossibility -for-him-to-win” category, I would at least be logical enough to not want him to stay in just to be a spoiler at the convention so the GOPe can wheel and deal and pick our candidate again! Why would anyone want that? it makes no sense.
