Here in San Diego a private firm just opened a bridge (Cross Border XPress) that connects the Tijuana, Mexico Airport with the U.S. side of the border, a 390 foot walk for $12 each way. Only persons with airline tickets can use the bridge and on Easter Sunday, 5,300 people went across. On an average day about 3,500 are using it. Border crossing takes 10 minutes on the Xpress vs 3-4 hours at the normal U.S.-Mexico point of entres.
