MY INTRODUCTION FOR TRUMP
boblonsberry.com ^ | 04/08/16 | Bob Lonsberry

Posted on 04/08/2016 7:14:02 AM PDT by shortstop

If I was asked to introduce Donald Trump, after I had had a child lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance and asked all the veterans to stand for a round of applause, this is what I would say:

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud of you. I am proud of you for working jobs and paying taxes and raising families. I am proud of your love of this country, and proud of the fact that you are willing to stand up and be heard.

I'm proud of you for supporting Donald J. Trump as he takes a baseball bat to this country's corrupt political establishment. There are no Republicans or Democrats here -- only Americans. We are not partisans, we are patriots. We come here not to advance a party, but to preserve a country.

I'm grateful to the Republican Party officials who have been brave enough to endorse this campaign. I respect those who are supporting other candidates. But I warn those who are plotting to derail the convention and deny the will of the people. In America, you don't cheat the people and get away with it.

And the will of the people is clear -- we want change.

We want America back.

We've had seven years of a president who sits with dictators and bows to kings, who apologizes to our enemies and infuriates our friends. We've lost ground at home and we've lost ground overseas. We are poorer, weaker and more divided than we've ever been.

We need to make America great again.

We need to stand up to ISIS and stand up for Israel, and make our borders mean something again. We need jobs for Americans, not factories for Mexico. Our mottos must be "In God we Trust" and "Made in America" and "Don't Tread on Me."

There is an evil progressive philosophy that is preaching division in our country. It replaces a work ethic with an entitlement attitude, it drives us to be hyphenated Americans instead of united Americans. It tells us we are victims, and fosters resentment and greed toward our neighbors.

And it forces on us an oppressive political correctness that tells us what to say, think and believe. In the embrace of minority views it condemns majority views. In the embrace of new cultures, it demands the suppression of American culture. It teaches our children that their heritage is bad and their country is evil.

Bottom line -- it teaches lies.

But you and I are here to shout the truth - that America is good, wise and strong. That our best days are ahead of us, and they will be built upon the principles that have always defined our Republic. They will be built upon the voice of the people and the values of the family.

We need a president who believes in America, and who believes in us.

We need a president who doesn't owe anybody but the voters.

We need a president who has held a real job and had to make a real payroll.

We need a president who will put our country and our people first.

We need a president who isn't confused.

Because we aren't confused.

We know which bathroom to use, which God to pray to, and which candidate to vote for.

Ladies and gentleman, it is my distinct honor to give you the next president of the United States, the honorable Donald J. Trump.

Donald J. Trump as he takes a baseball bat to this country’s corrupt political establishment
___________________________________________________

where are you people getting that Donald will do this?

He has done the exact opposite his entire life. He has told us he can work with Shumer, Pelosi, Reid and McConnell.

Granted the GOPe doesn’t want Donald but that’s because they think he will be an anchor in November rather than him breaking up their cartel

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud of you. I am proud of you for working jobs and paying taxes and raising families. I am proud of your love of this country, and proud of the fact that you are willing to stand up and be heard."

Should include: "For those who are not working, I am proud of you for supporting the candidate who will help American businesses to create the jobs you want."

"I'm proud of you for supporting Donald J. Trump as he takes a baseball bat to this country's corrupt political establishment. There are no Republicans or Democrats here -- only Americans. We are not partisans, we are patriots. We come here not to advance a party, but to preserve a country."

A very good post and introduction.

Today I read 7 out 10 republicans do not like Mr. Trump.
I’ve not been asked, never have been contacted. I wonder how many of their fellow reporters they interviewed.

And the will of the people is clear -- we want change.

and Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, Ryan, McConnell, et. al. do not represent change ... things would move on as they always have with any of these insiders. We are not looking to slow down the decline of this nation, we are looking for a reverse course.

Cruz would steer the decline trajectory of the country slightly right ... that is not what we need ... we need full reverse and flank speed.

I am willing to give the egomaniac businessman a chance ... ONE CHANCE ...

If he doesn't build the wall, lower taxes, negotiate trade deals, close the country to Muslims ... and at least begin to "MAGA" ... then I will be the first to vote him out in 2020.

Ryan nominating Cruz supporters need to get up to speed.

Many Many more telling you their plan. Whatever deal Cruz made with the GOPe to stay in after losing the south and keep Trump from winning outright apparently did not include Cruz being the Nominee.

I think you mistake what he means by “he can work with”. I think it means he knows how to get them to pass the legislation that is needed to repair and rebuild America. The carrot & the stick is the key and Donald knows the game.

Without deals we will continue the do nothing Congress model we have had for a decade. The deals need to be made with the endgame firmly in mind and a little sugar to bring in the flies.

Do you Trump supporters ever listen to what Trump says besides “we will make America great again” or “we will get tired of winning” or I’ll be so presidential, it will be incredible” or “it will be the best wall you have ever seen” etc. etc. Likely not....as that is all he says.

I see you’ve spend some time listening to him and reading his positions, NOT.

Scurry back into your hidey hole, Teddy will be handing out new talking points shortly.

It boils down to the basic reality of FOR the people, BY the people - not FOR the GOPe/Goldman Sachs/Club for Growth and against the WILL of the people.

I realize the concept is challenging when one has looked to and depended on the government to show you the way.

Speaking the plain truth is rarely popular with those that are used to getting away with lies, and the people that believe them.
I don’t like Trump, but if he gets the nomination, I’ll back him over Hildabeast or Bernie.
Condi Rice is too damned smart to run.

Just the sort of comment I would expect from someone who not only supports Trump but imitates him too.
