New York Times ^ | April 1, 2016 | By LARRY BUCHANAN and ALICIA PARLAPIANO

The rules for how Republican delegates are selected — which differ in every state — could end up turning votes for one candidate into delegates who will support another candidate at the convention. See article for its entirety.

They discuss the various possibilities that could result dependent on the methods for selecting delegates. Many states use more than one method in the selection of their state delegation. Examples are shown from the following states: CA, WI, MD, AL, PA,TN, GA, KS, SC & KY.

***California is one of the best states for candidates!*** On June 7, in California, candidates handpick their delegates to the convention. This ensures that delegates stay true to the voters’ wishes even when they are unbound.

If the GOP had any integrity, that is how every state delegate would be chosen. Now we learn that the majority of states have little interest in allowing republican voters to select a representative candidate.

GOPe message: GIVE us your TIME and your MONEY, but not your VOTE.

If Ted Cruz had any integrity he would not be trying to pack Trump delegations with stealth Cruz supporters.

I have to wonder at what point our dear gop leaders will stoop to outright buying the delegates.

And if this is how it works, there is no reason what so ever to pretend that we have primary elections. They can ‘select 2,472 delegates and have a private party at a Marriot Resort and they can select our next potus.

No need to waste hundreds of millions of dollars.
No need to spend a year on the campaign trail.
No need to take everyone’s hard earned donations.
No need to have volunteers sacrificing their time.
No need to jam the TV with non-stop terrible ads.
And, lest we forget...
No need for a young man to die traveling to the Iowa caucus to volunteer (Carson.)

What a wasted pathetic party we have pledged to support.
They want your time and your money, just not your vote!

GOPe needs your TIME and all your MONEY, just not your VOTE

The GOP, just like other corrupt bureaucracies (e.g., the EU), is rigged so that democracy is never of actual power.

It is all insiders for insider purposes and gain.

We need a two-faced 2016 "Integrity" Commemorative Campaign coin - Ted Cruz on one side, Hillary Clinton on the other side...

If Trump’s campaign were snatching Cruz delegates, would our Cruz supporting brethren defend the practice here as “the way the game is played” or would they scream bloody murder and double damn Trump to hell? Just asking.

At the end of the article it explains one of the ways that Romney’s prevailed at the convention.

They unseated half of Paul’s delegates from Maine. This is another reason why many suspect that Maine was not legitimately won by Cruz. That state has been ripe with election fraud at multiple levels. It was a very odd win. And it appears that Kasich would have been getting some of the missing votes in Maine.

Romney’s allies passed new rules that prevented Paul from qualifying for the first nomination vote. His supporters erupted in anger.

Saying Cruz and Integrity in one breath is an oxymoron

A good question and I think we all know the answer. The Cruzers would be beside themselves with rage.

It's a pity that Trump and Cruz couldn't have teamed up and defeated the GOPe together. Cruz is only 44 years old and could have set himself up nicely as VP and run for the presidency later. However, he has chosen to cast his lot with the GOPe. As a result, I will likely not support Cruz for any office ever again. I now know his true colors.

Your comment should be directed at the local GOP parties. They are the ones with the power to set the rules to allow full handpicked delegates by candidates.

California does it. So can the others.

I can only speak for myself. Cheaters stink. And the voters are being cheated, not just the candidate.

And the super delegates that Hellary holds are a foul example that’s double the size of our corrupted system.

It's a good rhetorical question, even though Trump isn't low-life GOPee slime that would stoop to cheating to win.

The nastycruzers would be screaming bloody murder and double-damning Trump to hell, when they weren't slandering him otherwise...

Of course states could amend the rules and honor the voice of the people.

But then they would be relinquishing control.

And we all know that we can’t have that!

Paul Manafort is a wizard and fixing this kind of problem and he now works for Trump.

He is described as maniacal at making sure delegate count is done right for his client.

You know, Trump just needs to go ahead and run third party.

If he’s going down, take the GOP with him. They deserve no less.

I have come to loathe Cruz but in this situation he is merely playing by the rules which differ from state to state.

Trump has taken action to rectify the problem and has added Ed Brookover and, more importantly, Paul Manafort to his staff.

Manafort is the best in the world at delegate count.
