Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz was greeted with a standing ovation at a Milwaukee County GOP event Saturday and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was standing in for front-runner Donald Trump, was met with steely silence three days ahead of the state's crucial primary vote.
The Milwaukee County Republican Party Fish Fry proved fertile campaign ground for Cruz, who has become the vehicle for many establishment figures in their quest to deny Trump the party's nomination. Cruz used the event to make his first appearance with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose endorsement he earned earlier this week.

My goodness, the Cryz trill are out in force on this thread. They sound like they’re getting orders from Katl Rove. One line is sexism and all want to denigrate her voice. Palin was addressed the Establishment, made up these days if effeminate metrosexual white men like Kevin Eilluamson of the National Review. Of course they didn’t cheer.
Answer.....Establishment
After Cruz wins by 3% in WI, he loses by 30% in NY and 15% in PA
Conservatives tend to be fairly polite. Silence would be more polite than booing.
Out in force? I see an equal number for both sides. I guess when ever a few Cruzers show up we are taking over a thread. Hmm, it is an article about Ted more than Sarah, regardless of the headline.
She’ll score a gig on “Celebrity Apprentice” after this but, yeah.
My sister married into a family that was high enough on the food chain of society, that she had to attend “events.” The kind of events that land one onto the Society page of eastern US newspapers. From time to time, she would need a partner in crime for these things, and I would be pressed into duty to attend. Lily white, impeccably dressed (with the latest from St. John’s), these gals were of very financially comfortable families. Mostly GOP establishment donors, to be sure. I never encountered one with a real thought in her head, or a conviction to be fought over.
When I looked over that bunch in the audience in WI, I knew I’d seen them before.
No wonder they didn’t luv the Guv. She challenges their cushy life, which survives on inherited money. They no longer have to earn their wealth, just have to protect it under law (trusts, etc) And they have to keep their cheap labor...always their cheap labor.
Btw, my sister is all for DJT.
Very few are indifferent to the beautiful lady from Alaska
I am...
She and Levin share that screechy voice problem. It turns me off, maybe irrationally, but I can’t stand to listen to them when they get wound up and tune them out.
Both could use a voice coach. There is no sound reason why they couldn’t overcome that. I worked on a radio station once and knew a guy whose normal voice hit that screechy register—but when he went on air, he’d trained himself to speak in a very mellow baritone.
I listened to her speech and that is not what happened. This GOP crowd was all in for Walker and Cruz. She nevertheless did get some applause and has enormous courage for facing these people.
They are not reporting the truth, In this thread is proof they lied. Its just another Hillary supporting hit piece. Posted by the Paul Ryan nominating crowd.
if my wife came at me with that same grating tone when Palin gets wound up, I would be a single man now
imagine the same grating voice, and the face of an enraged shrew...our likely next president...
I couldn’t get beyond 10 minutes. I tried, but it was boring.
I think this was already posted Saturday by a different anti-Trump sock puppet.
Hope this helps!
Because that's when she finally stopped talking. No wonder they applauded.
Even Palin would be a disappointment to many people if they came to hear someone else. To hear Cruz speak for Cruz and then not hear Trump speak for himself would be a disappointment for many. It's a shame too. I've heard Palin in person, and she was wonderful. It's a shame to allow unmet expectations to interfere with enjoying a good thing.
it was a room of GOPe and in the end it is still a room of GOPe. Their own mothers could have given a pro-Trump speech and they would not care.
