Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz was greeted with a standing ovation at a Milwaukee County GOP event Saturday and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was standing in for front-runner Donald Trump, was met with steely silence three days ahead of the state's crucial primary vote.
The Milwaukee County Republican Party Fish Fry proved fertile campaign ground for Cruz, who has become the vehicle for many establishment figures in their quest to deny Trump the party's nomination. Cruz used the event to make his first appearance with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose endorsement he earned earlier this week.

What happens ? He still loses.
Hard to believe Palin was met with silence anywhere.
Cheers, or in the wrong place, boos, but silence?
Gives the article away.
Very few are indifferent to the beautiful lady from Alaska
Only in the Paul Ryan pushing camp can standing Ovations for Palin be called a flop.
I think Sarah’s time is done. All she has left is her beauty and that squealing voice
Just like Limburger Cheese, this story stinks out loud.
Good I like that the establishment GOPe love their own! They certainly don’t love Americans.
There are videos around of her speech. It was, to be kind ... terrible.
Not sure what is up with her. haven’t seen her in awhile but this sure wasn’t the Sarah we came to know back in 2008.
I listened to the first 10 minutes of that Palin speech. Outside of her introduction, there was ZERO applause. The cameras kept scanning the audience and they appeared as disinterested as I was. It was pretty bad.
So what? The corrupt GOPe recognized one of their own and responded in a predictable manner.
We never see any real photos of the “crowds” at any Cruz “event”. And never really have. That’s because they’d clearly be dwarfed by Trump Crowds. Trump has filled stadiums. Cruz? Not so much. And his vote fraud “wins” - such as that laughable Utah caucus - are clearly designed to keep him relevant long after his expiration date. If people wanted Cruz, he’d have been winning all the primaries Trump has won. The fact is the people do not trust Cruz, who is really a Bush Operative in TEA Party disguise. That’s why he’s losing. People are on to it.
“I think Sarahs time is done”
She just hasn’t grown into a polished speaker. I don’t mind her quirks, but she not capable of adjusting her style for the audience.
I think “life events” have taken a toll on Ms. Palin. She has had to endure quite a bit in the past 8 years, and much of it has been bad, particularly with how she is treated by the press and her own party. That would take a toll on anyone.
Her star has faded IMO, and it seems each appearance is harpy and almost annoying.
I can say this - if my wife came at me with that same grating tone when Palin gets wound up, I would be a single man now
Palin was “steely” right back.
>>> Outside of her introduction, there was ZERO applause.
If you watched to the end, you will see that she, too, got a standing O. I agree that she was met with a cool reception at first, but the crowd warmed up by the end.
So, shut up and dump her.
At the end Sarah got a STANDING OVATION.
What do you think Sarah knows about Cruz that caused her to endorse Trump?
And Jeff Sessions?
