Ronnie Corbett, a diminutive British comedian with an outsized personality, exquisite timing and a heart of gold, died Thursday at the age of 85. He had spent decades on TV and was one of the country's best-loved entertainers.

Wikipedia says Ronnie told people he was the shortest commissioned officer in the RAF.
Great story, but maybe it's just what he told people.
P.S. It turns out the guy in the middle, a.k.a. the middle class, was Ronnie Barker, Corbett's comedy partner, a.k.a. the other Ronnie.
A superb comedian. It really is the very end of an era with his passing. Morecambe and Wise, gone, and now The Two Ronnies gone. Very sad.
Hope he is now getting comfy in that big leather chair in the sky.

Ronnie Corbett was great but Ronnie Barker was a genius.

One of the funniest bits I have ever seen.
I was tempted to post a thread, but I wasn’t sure how many Freepers would know who he is.
Such sad news. Both Ronnies now gone. There aren’t any British comedy greats left now except the Pythons.
Its hard to explain just how huge The Two Ronnies were and still are collectively and individually in the UK. A huge part of British pop culture.
Media in the UK reporting he was suffering from Motor Neurone Disease. thankfully only started around Christmas, until then he looked very fit and well.
