RNC Can Change The 1237 Rule At The Convention
FoxNews ^ | 03/31/16 | Eric Bolling

Posted on 03/31/2016 8:20:36 PM PDT by BagCamAddict

In case anyone is unaware: All this talk about "1237 delegates means Trump is the nominee" is BUNK.

That so-called "rule" is a temporary rule that can be changed at the convention. Therefore, Trump is not guaranteed the nomination even if he gets 1237, or 1400, or even 2000 delegates.

They can change the rule to suit their #NeverTrump plan, and make the requirement 1 delegate more than however many Trump has.

On the O'Reilly Factor tonight, Eric Bolling confirmed this. There are 42 convention rules in the rule book. Rules #26 through #42 are Temporary Rules that are written and voted on at the convention. The rule about 1237 delegates falls under Rule 40 D & E. That means they can change the requirement to 2000 delegates if they want to.

Make no mistake: They plan to steal the election from Trump and put in their own people: Ryan, Romney, Rubio, Bush, etc. For those of you who support Cruz or Kasich, please wake up. It won't be Cruz, and it won't be Kasich.

TRUMP has the people’s vote.

Trump has about 1/3 of the (GOP) people's vote - more than the others, but hardly a tsunami of support that requires the party to overturn 160 years of practice for him.

I like a man of principal who will see his party burn down rather than change the rules to be fair to the voters..

The rules are fair to the voters - They are there to make sure that the nominee is supported by a majority of the party.

No it doesn’t. After the first vote they can vote for whoever they want. If they want Trump’s voters in Nov. that will be Trump. If they don’t it won’t.

He could become the candidate for a party already on state ballots.

Trump had better spend enough of his $$$ or do whatever legitimate things need doing to get all those delegates he needs, or else the GOP-e is going to kidnap the convention and nominate another loser. They WANT Hillary (they may very well get Bernie, but they think they might still get Hillary and that’s obviously the GOP-e’s vision of Paradise)

“The rules are fair to the voters - They are there to make sure that the nominee is supported by a majority of the party.”

No they are not and no you do not decide that...the people do...you watch oh deluded one what happens if they try to steal the nomination from Trump, even with their corrupt rules. BTW, why don’t you ask Rand Paul about their fairness...

This is an utterly ridiculous thesis.

They are NOT going to change the majority + 1 rule.

Period.

“Agreed!! Very sadly.”

Yes, but what saddens me even more is the present state of the party and the nation...I guess that is the scale by which we break away or stay when you come down to it.

Personally, I say let the chips fall where they may...I am voting Trump this November.

*************************************************************

In Illinois you cannot “write in” somebody unless they petition the Il.sec. of state to be a write in candidate, in which case, their name will appear on the ballot as a write in candidate.

Sounds stupid, I know but that’s the rule.

Does it matter ? From what I’ve seen on TV, these are “voice votes” to the floor calling for “Nay” or “Yay” and the Speaker of the House decides he heard more of whichever one he wanted.

That is only if one cares about the rules, I will still write him in...I don’t care about their stinking rules or their stinking election if Trump is not the nominee...being a little more dramatic for fun...but the point is true...I will vote for Trump in November...doesn’t matter if they don’t count it, I cannot control their immorality I can only control my own morality.

TRUMP has brought the tsunami.

The real tsunami is the unity TRUMP has proven in the cross over of migrant Democrats and Independents into the R Party for TRUMP which is the largest in history, certainly in a General Election where it will matter.

The Republican brand is despised by most Republicans, ALL Democrats, and most of the Independents.

Without the ONE outsider campaign on the field, everybody goes back into their corners. Democrats go home, Independents shrink, and whoever would dare replace TRUMP barely collects a shrum of the Republican votes.

THAT 160 years of that’s-the-way-we-always-”done it” is a UUUUGE problem, that in this era no longer benefits the union, but benefits the corrupt party power system that keeps outsiders at bay and citizens from running.

1/3 of the GOP vote gets the screws at Convention. Delegates already voted, in their own primary. At Convention they get three more votes than the people.

4 votes to your 1 can knock the people’s choice out at a “convention”, and doesn’t sit well with the rubes back home.

If the GOP-e plays this game and takes Trump out, I’ll still vote for Trump.

Then I guess it will be time to get ready to live with a democrat president, Senate and Congress.
