Donald Trump is meeting on Thursday with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus during his trip to Washington, just two days after he disavowed his pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee.
The real estate mogul has had a fraught relationship with the RNC, openly flirting at times with a third-party bid and often complaining about mistreatment from the Republican Party in general and the RNC in particular.
The RNC has publicly stated that it would back Trump if he clinches the nomination, but has also said it is preparing for the possibility of a contested convention.
Trumps visit to the RNC came as he swung back into presidential mode on Thursday, also convening a meeting in Washington with members of his newly established foreign policy team and rolling out his U.S. House Leadership Committee as the real estate mogul tries to build a more sturdy campaign.
Trumps volatility has been on full display over the past two days as he verbally attacked a reporter who accused his campaign manager of battery, disavowed the GOP loyalty oath, bemoaned the Geneva Conventions, and suggested that women should be punished for abortions if they become outlawed before quickly reversing himself.
The fallout threatened to unravel the limited headway he appeared to be making after Super Tuesday, as it became clearer that Trump was marching toward the nomination. Trumps spin through Washington earlier this month showed flashes of a more evolved candidate, as he delivered a commanding speech before AIPAC and huddled with lawmakers at the law firm of his election lawyer.

“I see a third-party run by Trump”
I would vote for Trump. Third party would destroy any republican chance of winning and the GOP & RNC need to get a very clear message if they are still around after that.
Agreed.
Or a really bad wedgie.
“I see a third-party run by Trump.”
Not necessarily. If polling indicates that Trump really has a decent chance in a 3 way race, perhaps.
Here’s why not.
If Trump runs 3rd party and loses, the GOPe will be able to avoid blame for losing the election. They can simply point to Trump and his supporters for the hitlery regime. This would give GOPe renewed strength.
No doubt, if Trump loses the nomination, the GOPe will try to court Trump and Trump voters, but the way he has been treated Trump will not lift a finger for the GOPe. Trump could lend his efforts towards creating a new party.
What? Go JEB, GO? Who else is running, troll?
Haha! Donald Trump storms into Reince Priebus’ office...
“Reince, What the hell do I do? I don’t want to be President, I can’t afford the pay cut! But the idiots keep voting for me no matter what leftist positions I take! They complain about Washington insiders and I name a couple of GOPes to my team, two guys with zero conservative credibility and these voters I got don’t even flinch! Reince, pal, you gotta help me!”
“Donald, it’s up to you, sooner or later you’re gonna have to tell them you were just kidding about the wall. Maybe you were a little too strong on that one...”
“Yea... heh, heh... I am quite the salesman, ain’t I?”
“Nobody sells bull turds better than you, Don. I promise you, you’re the best. Now, let me see what kind of mayhem we can concoct to give you a face-saving opportunity. But you have to promise, no more Clinton Foundation, okay?...”
“allllriiiight... Well, for this year anyway. But I need a small favor. Hillary stays out of jail. Hey, you know, business is business...”
Shake It Up Baby! Twist and Shout.
Trump will not back down nor will he toss in the towel. He is more than willing to jump in the mud and fight for our country when he finds it needs to be done. Hot dam! soon it will be summer in the city of DC and the dogs will be panting with their tongues hanging out of their mouths.
This campaign is teaching civics students far more intelligently than any instructor could do in a classroom.
GO TRUMP GO!!
Reince is not up for the nomination.
Yep, he just tweeted that the meeting sent well.
Thx for that bit of info.
