You might have to revise and extend your remarks when the new Boeing Factories open in China.

What monopoly? Heard of the govt owned Airbus conglomerate? Then, there are the Russians but who buys their planes anyway?
Additionally, the small-mid size jet makers are Brazilians (Embraer) & Canadians (Bombardier).
The ChiComs are rumored to be coming up with their own large passenger jet.
More power to Boeing if they want to relocate from Washington to a right to work state.
Thanks for your insights. Some anti private industry, pro Union posters are quite active on FR nowadays.
All we need is a few more free trade deals and those middle class jobs we’ve been promised for 25 years by the free traders will start appearing magically.
Wasn’t one of the first acts of the GOP Congress in 2015 to extend the Import/Export bank? Aren’t the major beneficiary of the Import/Export bank Boeing and the foreign government owned airlines who receive taxpayer guaranteed Import/Export loans to buy airplanes from Boeing. Didn’t the GOPe tell us continuing to fund the Import/Export bank was essential for American manufacturing exports and American jobs?
Once again, the corporate welfare is given to the crony capitalists and the the US jobs go away.
Strange how it all works out.
so has to build an assembly plant in China
and transfer technology
by by jobs
Right,it is in North Charleston, South Carolina.Build the 787 there.
“If anyone here thinks a company like that is in any real trouble and needs to eject 10% of its workforce RIGHT NOW, then there’s nothing we can say for you except...suckah”
How many unnecessary jobs should they keep, given their backlog?
A few comments.
The US is pulling out all families from Turkey, and there are rumors of things getting interesting.
With the oil crash, a lot of the overseas contracts are to places that may be cash short.
Boeing is a lot like John Deere in that they are trying to anticipate the next wave, not ride the current one to the end. The medium term doesn’t look all that great, and they may be counting on a lot of those contracts not being there.
Nobody at Boeing is making minimum wage.
Boeing has aircraft orders for the next 25+ years. Their cutting job is due to the extremely poor liberal management practices.
In one case, Boeing had some fat black racist talk about every team must have blacks on it or else it isn’t diverse enough and not functioning to its best levels...Boeing then flew in hundreds of CEOs and other chief executives from around the world to listen to that idiot tell them that so Boeing could distribute the video to all employees as part of the “ethics” training. Boeing spent millions of dollars on that liberal propaganda piece. It wasn’t ethical, it was racist, and Boeing employees pay for such crap through these layoffs.
“They didnt call it the Lazy B Ranch for nothing.”
One of the trips to the Boeing plant had a few hundred people hanging out. They were to be paid by union rules even though they had nothing to do. The rules required them to be present so they just hung out.
$15 hr minimum wage
Socialist on the council that is leaning harder left
Travel banned to No. Carolina over open bathroom legislation
Transportation looniness leading up to the largest tax increase in state history to help fund another tunnel when the first one has gone terribly of schedule and budget
...and every district in the state democrat primary carried by Bernie
Hmmm- maybe, just maybe the professionals at Boeing take their their mission and company welfare a little more seriously than politicians and voters in Washington State do theirs.
I live in Washington state. If you want to blame someone, blame the unions and a hostile state government. I applaud Boeings move to more business friendly states like South Carolina.”
I live in Washington and also applaud their move to more business friendly states. The machinist union at Boeing is constantly going on strike. I sold all my stock years ago because one never knows when the workers will go on strike and shut the business down.

This and things I’ve been hearing locally. Sadly the employees are meeting their goals but the company is still late delivering planes, causing many order cancellations.
Great news. I just talked to some of the earliest Boeing Charleston employees and they said that all of the layoffs are in Washington. Things look good here. I’ll freepmail you any more info if you need it.
