They’ve been in business since 1926 and they’ve been accurate four times? Amazing.

I think Huckabee is a Trump supporter. His legal advice to Cruz is absolutely ridiculous.

Go Trump!

Indignant about the allegations? Yes.
Fighting to protect his “honor and character” in Court? No. Wonder why. It’s been almost a week. Lawsuits can be filed almost immediately. But, not here. Strange. Very strange.

On Monday, former Governor Mike Huckabee said that if the senator wants to fight these latest accusations about him, he should start by suing the publication. The governor even cited the lawsuit between Gawker and former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan adding, "I think he’s got a terrific opportunity to file the lawsuit. And, that’s the way to fight some of this stuff."

Huckabee can not be that stupid to make legally equivalent the Gawker case and the Enquirers's "there are some rumors out there" story. And he is legal idiot if he reaqlly beleive his statement of "he’s got a terrific opportunity to file the lawsuit".

Why sue? As a public figure, the burden of proof is extraordinarily high, the trial wouldn’t happen until well after the fall election, and it would only draw attention to the allegations.

Calling it “Garbage” is a clever way of not actually denying anything.

Freepers never used to attack and debase each other like this. It’s sickening. Where is our elegance? Our pyjama humor, our “esprit de corps?” We could use some help.

There is no lawsuit here, but not because Cruz is guilty. Cruz is a public figure, running for POTUS, and the allegations in question are part of the discussion of that campaign. To prevail, Cruz would have to not only prove that the allegations are false, but that they were made with actual malice - that the paper knew they were false and printed the story anyway to injure Cruz.

Were I Cruz’ lawyer, I’d tell him to forget it.

Huckabee is ignorant. Hogan sued Gawker for invasion of privacy.

Cruz cannot sue NE for libel based on incorrect, harmful allegations that damaged his reputation. He is a public figure. To prevail in a libel case, Cruz would have to prove that NE acted with malice and knew the allegations to be false.

He can’t file the lawsuit, it has to be the women who are non-public figures, he can’t file a lawsuit unless he can prove harm which would mean loosing the nomination and proving this was the cause.

There will be discovery and he has no idea what they have.

If I were Cruz I wouldn’t file a lawsuit, either.

Only a very stupid person would respond to this by filing a lawsuit.

It simply does not matter, re, filing a lawsuit, whether the story is true or false.

The sycophants need to get real.

If they care about nothing else, they should care that their bizarre presuppositions are showing.

We were supposed to believe that Ted was obligated to jump when Trumpsters say to jump. When he doesn’t jump to the tune of those who seek his destruction and who drip with rhetorical tricks and mean, dirty attacks of overwhelming number, that’s supposed to confirm guilt.

Nonsense.

Carly Fiorina wasn’t supposed to say what she said. Nonsense. She spoke truth and it was perfectly placed. She was well suited to be the one to ask, why should TC be demanded to jump to the Trump tune?

Trumpsters who claim it wasn’t Trump but the independent action of the National Enquirer just doing their thing, and who claim Heidi Cruz SHOULD have been used in Trump’s tweet, have shown their true colors from what I have read from them on FR.

All the “out there” accusations that rumble down like Niagra Falls is what they trade in. The coin of the realm.

Whatever the truth of the NE and Trump connection, Trumpsters are in full throated cry FOR the anything goes effort to destroy.

Do they mirror the leader?

It seems so to me.

If Trump is so innocent, why would followers be gleefully out for blood?

Not so very long ago, what is happening now with this would have been unbelievable, unthinkable, inconceivable.

Because TC was a conservative hero.

A Mr. Smith goes to Washington.

Now look.

What changed in the picture?

Enter, Donald Trump.
