My gut feeling is this prosecution is an attempt to intimidate the staff of Mr. Trump so they think twice about doing anything to protect him, such as descend upon a reporter who is getting too close to Mr. Trump as the female reporter was doing, and by so intimidating the staff, they are putting Mr. Trump in potential danger. The prosecutors will keep kicking and keep kicking until the staff people are afraid to do anything because they might get arrested, and this will open up Mr. Trump to a potential attack on his person or an assassination attempt.
