Conclusion: Should Conservatives Support Trump If He Wins The GOP Nomination?
ConservativeHQ ^ | March 29, 2016 | Richard Viguerie and George Rasley

Posted on 03/29/2016 9:04:48 AM PDT by Defiant

In the final installment of our series on what conservatives should do if Donald Trump wins the nomination we look at a final scenario and offer our recommendation on whether conservatives should join Trump or the Republican establishment at the Republican National Convention.

.......

Conclusion

If conservatives form their own cultural conservative Third Party to oppose Trump in the General election they are certain to elect Hillary Clinton.

If conservatives sit out the election they are certain to elect Hillary Clinton.

Based on the historical evidence, the results to-date in the 2016 primaries and 2016 exit polling if conservatives make a deal at the Republican National Convention to deprive Donald Trump of the nomination they are certain to elect Hillary Clinton.

The only scenario that does not, on its face, result in the election of Hillary Clinton is an alliance at the Republican National Convention between Cruz’s conservative delegates and Trump’s populist delegates who unite to guarantee that the two leading post-primary candidates are nominated as President and Vice President – as they were in 1980.

Right now, the establishment’s goal is to sow as much chaos as possible in the lead-up to the Republican National Convention so that no candidate reaches the magic number of the 1,237 delegates necessary to win the nomination on the first ballot.

We urge Donald Trump and Ted Cruz delegates to be smart about what is happening, keep their eye on the prize, which is defeating Hillary Clinton and dismantling the establishment stranglehold on our country, and to follow the lead of their compatriots in Tennessee by forming an alliance to ensure that the Republican National Convention nominates a conservative – populist ticket.

If Trump gets the nomination, I’ll have to see how the general goes. I’m not convinced he is much of an improvement over Hillary...but Hillary has a knack for proving herself, day after day, ever more disgusting. She may be able to make me vote for Trump.

But if the two of them duke it out in the general, I’ll be convinced God is truly condemning America to hell.

IF Trump wins the nomination fair & square, Twinkie will
walk barefoot over rough gravel to get over to the polls
to vote for him.

I voted Cruz in primary; but things there have seemed to
head south fast & I’m not all that sure he isn’t rung in
with the GOPe now.

GOPe retreads; I’ve been there, done that, got the tee
shirt several times. No more. Dishonest finagling just
because the GOPe deem someone “unworthy” won’t work for
me.

Nope. Will NEVER vote for Trump.

Because of trumps acceptance of violence and making statements that violence is okay, using women in his strip clubs, bragging about multiple affairs with married women, his wife is a low life who posed nude, his mob connections, fraud with trump university, four bankruptcies that our government covered. A billionaire has his bankruptcies paid by the little people. That's right it's allowed so why not use the system? Like buying political favors he admitted to. He can't complain about those who use and take advantage of welfare, political deals with rinos....This is just some of what we know about trump now. I'm sure Hillary has a lot more on him.

It was Freepers here who put the cherry on top in my decision never to vote for trump. FR use to be a site where the constitution was above any person. Free republic should be renamed trump central. Many here are as hateful as trump himself. They stand behind trump when it's obvious he's not a prolife, profamily and a pro gun conservative. He's going to “make America great again” sounds Exactly like “I'm going to fundamentally change this country.” He lies about his opponents and FR trump supporters don't care. If someone planted a story that Cruz used drugs they would run with it. They don't care if they tell lies about an innocent man. No intregrity. They are brainwashed like Obama voters.

Trump and his supporters scare the hell out of me. If trump acts like this now how will he treat citizens who oppose Him? I have blasted rinos here a lot. Check my threads. Now a rino would be safer and saner than trump. One question. Why does trump continue say outrageous statements that we all know will turn independents and others against him? Logic tells you he should be bringing republicans together so they'll vote for him. Instead he's driving Cruz voters away. Trump supporters here have done the same. You sure he hasn't made a deal with his friend Hillary?

I'm writing in Cruz.

I look at it this way. I’m unsure that Donald Trump would respect the role of a President with Constitutionally limited powers.

Being the only one playing by the rules of the Constitution just isn't going to work anymore. The govt is too broken. So I have to focus on his policies which I agree with more than any other.

I perceive your argument as being an admission that the Constitution is a dead letter. It may well be. Without an effort to restore it, you are left with voting for the dictator who you think will please you most. However, this is fraught with peril in the following ways:

1. The dictator who pleases you most is still a dictator;

2. The next dictator elected may not please you at all;

3. The dictator after that may not be elected by anyone.

We need to fight to restore our Constitution and Natural Rights, and restore the limits on our government. Without doing that, the American people will no longer be separated into "left" or "right." We will all be slaves.

You left out true constitutionalist, those who don’t lower their standards with a man who can’t control his mouth, those who don’t want a low life First Lady who posed nude, those who think men shouldn’t use young women to make money, let alone someone who isn’t ashamed of owning strip clubs, someone who abuses the system by paying off politicians for political favors, bad choices of a billionaire who went bankrupt 4 times. Struggling hard working people’s taxes went to a billionaires bills and bad choices. He’s a billionaire without any integrity or morals......he’s a rich low life politician.

I just love how the Trump fanboys are so sure that his sudden conversion to some conservative positions is more a predictor of his future actions than his life-long liberalism.

“Conservatives that won’t vote for the nominee Donald trump are in reality over principled reactionaries. actually, lazy over principled reactionaries”

I have never met a single person in real life who has said they would not vote for Trump because he is not conservative enough.

Yet watch TV and read and you hear plenty of them.

These are all media and GOPe careerists who don't care in least about real Americans. They only care about themselves and finding a place on the gravy train.

Most of these so called conservatives work for magazines and institutions that are dependent on big donors to survive. They are bought and paid for. They all repeat the same globalist message: one sided trade agreements, open borders, pay to bring in thousands of Muslims, cut social security.

And then they brag about how conservative they are.

I think Trump will help to get us back on track to restore the Constitution. He is the first step.

I have voted conservative all my life and maybe one of them was conservative what has that got us. I want some one that is anti uniparty and that is not Cruz.

The only way Cruz could win is for Trump to drop out and then only if Kasich dropped out too. Cruz at this point is mathematically eliminated his only purpose is to broker the convention which will do him absolutely no good whatsoever. Walker who endorsed him yesterday only last week said a brokered convention would mean that none of the three would be the nominee.

You speak the truth.

And it is absurd that probably the very same people who sat out voting for Romney in 2012 are now on their soapbox about how not voting for “the nominee” is a mortal sin.

Don’t give up.

You make great points.
