Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife ...

Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife as endorser Carly Fiorina leaps in to insist a declaration that he's not an adulterer is a 'dance to Donald trump's tune'

Texas senator could put National Enquirer scandal to rest with a simple statement that he has never strayed in his 14-year marriage

Instead he has batted down the supermarket tabloid's speculative story about five alleged affairs in a more limited fashion

Carly Fiorina leaped in to intercept DailyMail.com's request for a blanket statement of marital fidelity and Cruz ultimately punted on the question

Fiorina pleaded for a return to discussing issues, but lobbed her own accusation at 'serial adulterer' Donald Trump

Cruz also challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate in Wisconsin on Tuesday night: 'Why don't you show up and debate like a man?'

Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.

'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'

The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.

Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.

But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage – a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle – Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.

Did you look at the pics at the link?

Snarly’s mouth hanging wide open like she is ready for the bait and hook.

I guess Teddy needs Snarly to act like his mother.

Ted Cruz has since c. January 25 run the worst presidential campaign I have ever seen. Prior to Jan. 25, he was doing fair to well.

Cruz affiliates released the nude photo of Trump’s wife Melania to goad Trump, who obliged by saying he’d “spill the beans about Cruz’s wife”. This prompted outrage and indignation from Cruz, “Leave my wife the hell alone!”

Then comes the Nat’l Enq. article. An article shopped around for some time, allegedly by persons associated with Rubio. What doesn’t anyone investigate that? Why is Cruz silent on that? Because it doesn’t support Cruz’s “New York values” narrative.

Cruz knew this was coming. To get out in front of it he set up a narrative. It’s a campaign maneuver by Cruz to deflect questions and to attack Trump.

He had his chance today:

‘Senator I’m sorry, this is a very serious question about your character,’ the second question came. ‘Will you just – if the answer is, “Yes, I’ve always been faithful to my wife,” can you just say so please?’

He could have given a definitive statement right then and there and chose not to.

"Cruz also challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate in Wisconsin on Tuesday night: 'Why don't you show up and debate like a man?'"

Cruz can't even answer a simple question like a man.   (He needs Carly Ficklewiener to run interference for him when the press asks him a direct, simple question.)

He was not running for any office like Cruz is. Trump did not pretend to be holier than anyone else. Vote Trump.

Then just say it. The reporter even worded it for him and asked him to repeat it and he didn’t.

Why should Cruz spend time and money to defend himself against rumor mongers? The majority of people don’t believe it. Trump supporters believe it because they want to believe it.

You mean the same voters Cruz needs to win anything.

Read the article - thanks for sending the link. I like Ben Carson and I agree with his ultimate choice to support Trump.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but if he won’t answer the questions...

It is only sex. No big deal for a good Christian man like Cruz.

It reminds one of the UT candidate who claimed a World War II record that never existed. Can’t recall his name: some Utahan should know.

I have not seen the pics. Somebody said the look on Teddy’s face when they asked the question was pathetic.

Cruz is on Hannity right now repeating the nonsense about “the 65% of Republicans who recognize that to support Donald a Trump is to cede the election to HillRy Clinton”.

By the same logic 80% don’t want Cruz!! It’s the lamest of lame arguments! Why does Cruz say such lame things over and over again?

It’s gotten to the point where I can’t even listen to Cruz - I have to hit the mute button...
