Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski had a jolly old time mocking Ted Cruz on today's Morning Joe. After playing a clip of Cruz refusing to say whether he'd support Trump given The Donald's attack on his wife, Joe imagined Cruz rehearsing his words before a mirror.
Scarborough went on to approvingly cite David Axelrod, who had said that Cruz seems "staged" even when defending the honor of his wife. [Granted, Axelrod's protege Barack Obama is so much smoother with his prevarications.]

Cruz quoted a movie line from Michael Douglas movie called The American President. Used dialogue lifted directly from the script to “defend” his wife. He also screwed up the line.
It has seemed to me that Cruz has gotten acting lessons, but he is not a natural and it comes across as phony.
These Trump guys are obsessed with Cruz’s personal life. I don’t think it’s going to play well in Peoria.
Cruz always comes across as a big whiny phony to me. What happened to the huge demand to Trump to show us your tax returns and that Trump is a con artist? Guess those things didnt work. On to new and bigger accusations.
