The coming Trump landslide
Worldnet Daily ^ | 3/24/2016 | Joseph Farah

May I, as a Ted Cruz supporter, just step in here for a minute and explain why Donald Trump, as Republican nominee for president, will win a landslide election victory over Hillary and actually be a welcome alternative to the kind of leadership America has experienced for the last 27 years?

I don’t care what the national polls say now about a matchup between Trump and Clinton. I am old enough to remember vividly what the polls between Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter looked like in 1980 at this point in the presidential campaign. They suggested Reagan had no chance to win. He trailed Carter in the polls by double digits. He went on to carry 44 states that year, including New York and California – 49 states four years later.

That is very close to what I expect Trump to do to Hillary if he becomes the nominee.

Why do I think that?

If this were true, the whole Cruz train just got derailed and Cruz is finished. No wonder the conservative media is silent. Their whole reason for existing goes up in smoke.

“You are one in a small group of people who fixate on the little tempests in a teapot that most people don’t pay attention to.”

No. I just prefer to keep my head out of the sand. Most (>70%) women (not only GOP women) don’t like Trump. The media will have a field day with this gift-wrapped meme every day between July 1 and the election.

T-bone tastes good if well-done but not many other cuts (just my experience).

I think you are engaging in wishful thinking. The American people like Mr. Bill and want to support Mrs. Bill to bring back Mr. Bill.

You cannot prove a negative.
Why would they repeat BS?

If you read the article it says there are investigators looking into the rumors concerning extra marital affairs between Ted Cruz and some campaign staffers and a sex worker. It doesn’t confirm anything. It will, however, dominate the news cycle and force the Cruz campaign to the defensive.

I think we may be making too much of this.

Cruz forgot to disclose two large loans.
Cruz forgot to disclose other financial holdings.
Cruz forgot he was a Canadian.

Is it possible, Cruz just forgot he was married?

That and folks projecting all their hopes and beliefs on him, just like the Left did on Obama.
I don’t project or assume that Trump will hold the same beliefs that I do. I don’t even believe that he will stick with anything he has said. It was just a negotiating stance...

What an incredible waste of a choice cut of beef. Both the strip and fillet (the cuts on either side of the bone) should be treated with the respect they deserve. Rare to medium only.

True dat.

I guess this is just one of those areas where I depart the conservative reservation. Facts are facts.

If this story is not true, it will quickly die. The Cruz campaign does not even have to address it.

All of that $500 million spent ‘fighting’ him has, in effect, been nothing but more ads FOR Trump.

"I'm rubber you're glue, your words bounce off me and stick to you."

Donald Trump in a nutshell.

Do you think Ted Cruz would have been allowed into the Senate if they didn't have something on him?

There is a reason the GOPE are such consistently cringing whiners.

Settle down now. I just endorsed Trump over Clinton. Yet your feathers are ruffled anyway.

Yes, we all know Reagan was trailing Carter by 30% in early 1980. We know he won big and carried NY, CA, PA, MA, etc. But two big things are different this time.

First is this was a different country in 1980. People still believed American exceptionalism back then. You didn’t have a very large part of the electorate running around who hate this country and think we are an evil empire like we do now. Gay marriage was unthought of 1980 and would have been rejected soundly. In 2016, if you oppose gay marrige you are in the minority and you are ostracized. Someone like Barack 0bama would never of had a chance to be elected in 1980, just as Ronald Reagan would have no chance in 2016.

Second is Trump is no Ronald Reagan. Reagan did not generate as much hate and annimosity that Trump does. Early on, those people choosing Carter over him didn’t hate Reagan. They liked him, but they were just concerned about him being too far to the right. Most people just hate Trump and his showmanship and bombastic ways. Reagan was warm, friendly and articulate and was able to articulate conservatism to even his deepest skeptics. Trump is certainly not articulate, warm or friendly. He isn’t even conservative. Trump does not have Reagans ability to win people over. In fact, Trump has been losing support. Reagan steadily gained on Carter through the spring of 1980. Trump is plummeting big time against Hillary in the spring of 2016.

So I don’t see there being a Trump landslide. I don’t think there will even be a Trump victory. The political landscape in this country is too tough for any Republican to win.

The same tabloid has broken several stories along the same lines and had them be proven accurate.

NE is in it for the money. They aren’t going to set themselves up for the mother of all libel suits unless they have a winning hand going in. Especially after the gawker trial just last week.

We’ll see whether there is fire soon enough.
