Sandy Hook Promise Mom Flags Warning Signs for Gun Violence By Robert Farago on March 24, 2016
Nicole Hockley is the founder and managing director of Sandy Hook Promise, a nonprofit working to end gun-related deaths. In the intro to Ms. Hockleys TEDx talk she declares On December 14, 2012, a mentally unwell young man with unrestricted access to high-powered firearms went to an elementary school in Sandy Hook, Connecticut and killed 20 first graders and six educators. Unrestricted access? Adam Lanza shot his mother in the head and stole her guns. High-powered? As opposed to? You see, the thing is . . .
details matter.

Because he was “handicapped”, it would have been illegal to suspect him. That would be Hate.
You may as well suspect Muslims for terrorist attacks.
Get ou’cher Captain Obvious suit, Pap.
End the GUN FREE ZONES.
Now that’s just downright racis’. Or something.
They’ve already painted every senior who receives Social Security as being “mentally unwell” and they should not be allowed to own a firearm. It’s the old “camel’s nose” thing. It works every time the communists use it.
“...with unrestricted access to high-powered firearms...”
A lie. There were restrictions on him. Under CT law, he was legally forbidden from possessing guns due to his age. Further, the guy was loony. He really ought to have been locked away, or at least there should have been a requirement that no firearms be kept in the house where he lived. It’s not gun laws that failed here, it’s the medical community. No background check would have stopped this, because he never attempted to buy any of the guns he used.
I put the blame squarely on his mother. This utterly stupid person should have had nothing of the kind near her mentally deranged son. She paid for her stupidity with her life but unfortunately so did many others.
If this was a muzzi we wouldn’t have heard about it.
“unrestricted access”
If you count having to kill someone to get something “unrestricted access” I have “unrestricted access” to a lot of things.

Isn’t that where you can just pick up a whole pile of guns, after the battle?
His mom certainly had a hand in the failure here as well.
Raging mental illness is pretty hard to miss, even when the family might slip into denial.
For the record, I have had to (with my sister) involuntarily commit another family member to an institution. More than once.
Why do anti gun rights bigots always lie about things like this? Access was not "unrestricted" and the guns were not "high-powered", nor were any "high" capacity magazines used. These morons can't even get the terminology correct.
