My Colleague at Gun Watch, John J. Ray (M.A.; Ph.D.), has published extensively. He has some insight into the recent “study” published in the Lancet:
The major British medical journals are heavily politicized — both Lancet and BMJ. Lancet even criticized the Iraq intervention under George Bush II. When they stick to their knitting — medical research — they do publish some good studies and are prestigious because of that. But the people running the journals are obviously Left-leaning — like most academics — so they can’t help misusing the platform they have to hand in order to promote their Leftist views.
That is of course bound to be an amusing exercise. Leftist claims are so counter-factual that a political study is bound to require all sorts of distortions and evasions to make any case at all. And the political studies they do publish are so unscholarly that the editors have obviously put their brain into neutral before publishing them.
The latest such study in Lancet (“Firearm legislation and firearm mortality in the USA: a cross-sectional, state-level study”) is a good example of that.

Lancet has always been “political” to control the perceptions of the masses. Everything is political-—everything is based on “faith”. Only Christianity is the most rational “faith”. All other “faiths” like atheism throw off Good and Evil to an irrational Man-Controlled system of injustice. (Without God, everything is permissible. Dostoevsky).
The psychological and “science” fields were taken completely over by Marxist sodomites in the early 70s (fascists)-—to destroy Truth (science) and destroy Christianity (the Age of Reason) and force a Marxist (irrational/atheist) worldview on the masses (radical egalitarianism, so that children will become so irrational they will believe Vice is Virtue, Men are Women, etc.)
Programmed emotions (operant conditioning/Common Core) create “happy slaves” of the State and any government idea is “true”-—like “global warming” and vaccinations are “good”, and poisoning the food supply and patenting genes (GMOs) etc. is “good” and “legal”....all part of the Leviathan to make people dependent and sickly and distracted.
All for total control by the psychopathic super-elites who want total control over the minds of our children (away from the Natural Family in artificial institutions to be programmed (controlled))....so “snow is black” and they can kill the useless eaters once over 60. (Fichte 1810). The elites want to regress us back to the pagan worship of Ba’al, where little children were sacrificed on the altars and sodomite orgies with the children were “normal”. They have to destroy the Natural Family to get the little children (which they already have done-—and have already normalized institutions for early childhood “education” (group-”think” indoctrination into paganism/satanism). Common Sense and Reality is deformed when taken away from the biological mother and father paradigm—(Christian concepts of Free Will, Individualism/self-reliance and male/female unity is embedded in childhood (Common Sense)).

Should be “Criminal violence” is not a medical issue.
“Gun violence” is a propaganda term to place responsibility on the instrument instead of the person. It is a media trick.
The disarmists found that they could not make headway with criminologists and economists, because they were too honest and fact based.
So they turned to the medical establishment and found that the writers there were far less fact based, and could support just about any conclusion that they wanted.
That is where the medicalization of gun legislation comes from. “Progressives” have a long history of using medical issues to increase government power.
