Landlord Refuses To Rent Apartments To Anyone Who Supports Trump...
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4) – A landlord in Grand Junction is not breaking the law by refusing to lease an apartment to anyone who supports Donald Trump for president.
According to The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction, Mark Holmes is renting out a two-bedroom apartment on Main Street, but he refuses to rent to anyone who supports Trump.
The ad prompted people who don’t agree with his tactic to leave hate messages on Holmes’ voicemail.
“I don’t know what to do anymore about what’s going on in this country,” he told The Daily Sentinel. “It’s just a mess.”
Some thought Holmes was violating federal housing rules by discriminating against political affiliations, but that’s not the case, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“That has nothing to do with the Fair Housing Act,” HUD spokesman Jerry Brown told The Daily Sentinel. “But that seems to be a first, and it’s original.”
“He’s preaching hate and he’s preaching … a lot of venom, spit and vinegar. And I live in the top part of the house,” Holmes said. “I don’t want anybody that even thinks that Donald Trump can be a good president to live in my home.”
Holmes said he’s already got several applicants.
I hope he ends up with a Bernie supporter and gets stiffed on the rent money.
OK, what if a potential tenant tells the landlord he’s voting for someone else, but votes for Trump anyway, how’s the landlord going to know?
BTW, how is this different from “I won’t rent my property out if you’re a gay couple”?
Laws are whatever liberals want them to be, they are interpreted however liberals want them to be interpreted, and they apply to whomever liberals want them to apply. Anyone liberals want to exempt from the laws is exempted.
That’s where we are.
Ask the HUD official who said this is fine.

The “law” is used by lefties as a weapon to attack, intimidate and stifle non-lefties

I kicked my daughters piano teacher out of my house after seeing an Obama sticker on his car. I told him he’d get enough of my money in taxes and never return. He threw his wife under the bus and said she stuck it on his car. Typical liberal. Save your own ass under any and all circumstances.
So by that logic if I said I refuse to rent Democrats that would allow me to discriminate against 90% of black people.
We need to get the government out of the housing business.
I applaud his capitalistic nature. He will win or loose on his business plan, with no governmental intervention.
But I doubt the state will leave him to his pursuits.

Holmes obviously has no problem with Obama and Hillary and Sanders preaching hatred against white people...
