While I have always left at least a 15% tip, much much more for excellent service or other reasons, I certainly reserve the right to withhold the tip in the future. A good server gets rewarded and the converse is true.
I hate the tip jars, also. We know several winery owners on our local winery trail. You know how half the population gets free stuff? Well, they treat things like wine tasting the same way. Some people use places like that for freebies and then don’t purchase anything. I’ve always tipped the person guiding the tasting, even before tip jars. Many don’t. Our winery trail introduced tip jars and started charging for tastings unless you make a purchase. Almost half of our population is the reason why we can’t have nice things.

The guy didn’t have to leave a tip. But he didn’t have to be so rude either.
If this waitress gave good service, even if she looked like a circus freak, then I probably would have tipped her. I'm not paying her to be a model. Obviously, this guy felt differently. And missing one tip isn't going to break her.

I used to want a pair so bad when I was a kid. I got them and they weren’t that great. One of many disappointing realizations in life, lol.
I think you may have just backed into the next great restaurant concept in the vein of Hooters, Tilted Kilt, and Twin Peaks. Now, all you need is a menu, beer taps and a bunch of big screens.

Assuming this is on the level, I don’t see why this should be an issue as long as the service is good. I’m not a fan of women with tattoos, but I’ve been served by waitresses who have them, and never held back a tip because of it.
It’s not really her, that’s just some picture I found with google. Figured I’d add some color to the thread.
If that’s a picture of the young lady in question....I’m not offended. I have seen MUCH weirder colors on people. This young lady is kind of pretty, in an avant-garde type of way.
If she gives good service, there’s no reason I wouldn’t leave a tip.

When you don’t completely embrace and affirm your approval of the idiosyncrasies of the special snowflakes with the dyed hair, tats, piercings, or other form of self-mutilation an adult child engages in, you are indeed “hating” by the standards of today...

I don’t care about pink hair. If she were good-looking, which she definitely is not, I would have offered her the tip. I mean a tip.
