I hate self check out at Lowe’s/Home Depot. I hate press 3. I hate having to listen to an automated system ask me questions over a 3-4 minute period that have nothing to do with my issue and having to repeat my answer 4-5 times before the system understands me. I want a real person every time.
I'm with you. I always want to speak with a person when I call a company. The way I get around automated phone systems is to speak gobbledy gook. Of course, it depends on the system, and sometimes it doesn't work.
But usually, especially when I'm calling as a consumer, if I answer an automated system question by saying something like: "ba-DAA, mullipee farnsdorf," the auto system will often say: "Let me connect you with an agent who can help you."
“I hate self check out at Lowes/Home Depot.”
especially when the stupid machine tells you to “place the item in the bag” and you actually DID.
Then you call ironically...a PERSON to help you with the same stupid machine.
I have about a 50% success rate with Lowe’s self checkout. And forget it for anything large that won’t fit in the bag.
