That is an unbiblical view. Jesus separated faith and politics and chastised those who thought he was a political messiah (try reading the NT). Show me where Christ called us to engage in politics? Dominionism teaches we must conquer society through political power in order for the return of Christ. That is directly contrary to the Bible. Salt and light was not used in the context of political power. That is man’s kingdom, not God’s. Christians need to fix the kingdom of God first “seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you”. Seek God first, fix the churches (lack of charity, lack of theology, acceptance of heresy like dominionism). Then perhaps, if it is God’s will, the world will fall into place. But politics has not a single thing do with it. I am saying that Cruz (and all dominionists) believe and teach that we must have control of the social areas before Christ will return.
“One of Satans grandest deceptions is that we can rest our hope for cultural morality and godly living in politicians and governmental officials. A nations hope for change is not to be found in any countrys ruling class. The church has made a mistake if it thinks that it is the job of politicians to defend, to advance, and to guard biblical truths and Christian values....Political entities are not the savior of the world. The salvation for all mankind has been manifested in Jesus Christ. God knew that our world needed saving long before any national government was ever founded. He demonstrated to the world that redemption could not be accomplished through the power of man, his economic strength, his military might, or his politics. Peace of mind, contentment, hope and joyand the salvation of mankindis accomplished only through His work of faith, love, and grace.”

It isn’t a matter of if we can disagree, you are making politics your god.
“... (try reading the NT) ...”
You don’t consider that a bit condescending?
“... you are making politics your god.”
No. I am saying that God calls various people to be salt and light in various realms of society. Some are pastors, some are store clerks, some are state representatives, some are physicians, some are teachers. And so on. It is absolutely unbiblical to say that aspiring to become a state representative is an act of faithlessness.
