President Obama’s outreach to communist-ruled Cuba risks “legitimizing the deeply entrenched Cuban regime,” Cuban human rights and opposition groups warned Wednesday, days before Obama is scheduled to become the first sitting president to visit the island nation in almost 90 years.

“We would never imagine that the democratic world would legitimize the Castros,” the Forum for Rights and Freedoms and the Resistance Assembly wrote in a letter to Obama.

“These individuals have destroyed the well-being of our nation. From firing squads and political assassinations to political imprisonment, thousands of Cubans inside and outside the island have had their lives taken by the regime because of their advocacy of a Free Cuba.” …

Obama has legitimized the Iranian regime, too

All he has to do is swing by Pyongyang and kiss Kim Fat-un's ass, to complete the trifecta.

Why are these fools taken by surprise? Obama is a Marxist just like Castro. It's been plain for all to see as long as you aren't wearing blinders — something these people were doing. Or, they were in complete denial as to what Obama’s ideology was and who he supports. Fools and knaves.

It was John F. Kennedy, a Democrat, who decided to call off the air support the Bay of Pigs invaders had been promised.

It's not the democratic world that has legitimized the Castros, but the Democratic Party. They've had a crush on Fidel for decades.

Didn't mean to suggest that they're not, just pointing out that this group (Forum for Rights and Freedoms and the Resistance Assembly) obtusely complains about the "democratic world" rather than the American Democrat Party, or specifically acting to demonize the American Democrat Party.

“We would never imagine that the democratic world would legitimize the Castros,”

The Democratic Party, as distinguished from the democratic world, has been awaiting the opportunity to fellate Fidel for more than half a century, or at least since Che passed away.

I’m praying for Castro to die now, not tomorrow or next week.

This seems so crazy to me. What did they think would happen? Why is it that people can’t see obvious consequences anymore? Did they really believe Obama would get any benefit for us or the poor cubans out of the deal? Of course they would cannoize the Castro regime and Obama did it only for purposs of making himself look like an important man.

RCP reports that Obama got 48 percent of Cuban-American vote in FL due to younger generation tilting leftward. If you have other data, please share.
