Riffing off a clip of Ted Cruz welcoming Marco Rubio followers to his fold, Mika Brzezinski went on an extended critique of Cruz's mannerisms on today's Morning Joe.
Steve Schmidt joined in, accusing Cruz of "oozing insincerity." Joe Scarborough pretended not to know what the others were talking about, facetiously wondering "what are you talking about? You didn't think that was from the heart?"

Mika, stay away from the word “ooze.”
“oozing insincerity.” ..............takes one to know one.........................
Mika mocks Cruz’s mannerisms: ‘cartoon character, oozes insincerity.’
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
My two cents: I admire Cruz’s steadfast conservatism, but I do wish he would get more real.
For once I have to agree with Mika and Scmidt. Not only did his speech ooze insincerity, it was completely oblivious of the facts. Cruz acted like he was making a victory speech on a night that proved his campaign is a delusional disaster.
Bingo.
“Let me get into character”
when she said that I thought, “she nailed it”.
I'm afraid that's not possible. He's by his very nature a smarmy, oleaginous, and insincere person who is loathed by virtually of those who know him personally. I don't care if he's the greatest conservative to have ever lived, I don't want an insufferable a-hole like that as president.
I hate the regularly scheduled pregnant pauses of Cruz. I find them downright sickening. I know he is a good conservative and he has a lot of good conservative supporters, which is why I support him on a Trump/Cruz ticket... but personally, I find him very difficult to listen to.
(Also, there is the eligibility issue, but that seems to be dropped for now.)
Ted isn’t inauthentic but comes across that way.
50% of the reason he’ll never be Prez.
I meant to add “virtually” to “all” but replaced it instead. I had to add “virtually” when I realized that his mother, wife, and kids must love him. Well, maybe.
Now THAT’s sincere twirling.
Truth hurts.
Mika isn’t saying a thing that hasn’t been screamed on the pages of FR. Infact she is being kinder and more civil than half of FR.
[Now THATs sincere twirling.]
Ted’s face should be put on a $3...
Oh, is that who this Mika person is? Here I was thinking it was Claire Underwood.
Is that Canadian $3 bill.
