and you trust our senators to hold together in a principled fashion? I don’t. this is not bean bag, this is serious. I am a lawyer, as is my husband. He actually was a senate jud committee staffer who worked on sup ct nominations for previous sup ct nominees, so we know a bit about the history and the process. no hearing.
I guarantee you they will buckle to their knees and do whatever he says, they are not Republicans they are Democrat operatives
Yes, it is possible that McConnell may take one last swing at us, but if he does, it’s over. He and his GOPe cohorts will be so far in the minority it will take them years to even get near a majority status.

I’m okay with no hearing, but AFTER the nomination is made. Then we can be deeply saddened and disgusted by Obama’s poor choice of nominees.

Great point. We may see some nominees who perceive this as their only shot at being appointed. So mostly 2nd and 3rd tier options.

The Republicans never wanted the majority in the senate and they still don't. They knew if they got a senate majority there would be no way to keep the veil of fake Obama opposition in place. The only problem was the Dems were so bad they could not hold on to the majority. Facing a possible president trump the republicans behind the scenes will do everything they can to make sure they don't hold the majority in 2016. All they really want is a safe seat at the table and that means they need the democrats in control of the senate.
